Owner description: A six-minute ride up a 1,670-foot mountain slope.

This was my third visit to Juneau and finally I could see the top of the mountain, so went up the tram. The views were great -- well worth doing once, although it's extremely expensive. The trails were still closed in early June due to mud and snow, so there's not much to do up there to justify a $30 price tag.

We did this while in Juneau. It was a nice ride up the mountain. A little crowded in the car on way up and down. I was in the middle both times and I am short so was not able to see a thing either way. Thought there was a little more up at the top. Did part of the trail but it was mostly closed because of snow on trails. Overall would recommend but don't expect too much.

We spent the day on the trails despite the rain. Saw a bald eagle in flight.

A good uphill hike - easier than the Grouse Grind. Spend $10.00 in the restaurant or gift shop and return on the tram for free.

Views going up are awesome to see the city and water ways. Make sure you can see the top is best time to go. We went at the end of June. Not all the hiking trials at the top were clear of snow. On the trials they have carving in the trees which are fun to find and spot. It can be a bit muddy so wear your hiking boots if you have them. Not that bad of hike for 75 yrs to 7yrs. We had our 7 yr old who enjoyed the hike and throwing snowballs at me. This year they had unusually heavy snows. Bring a light fleece jacket it is a bit cooler at the top. At the top they have an injured eagle you can see up close. A viewing scope to see an eagle nest below and can spot eagles flying around. Restaurant at the top has good food, views and awesome calamari. Go see the movie about the Tlingit (Klinkit) indians -- well done and interesting movie to understand their culture. Even our 7 yr old enjoyed it. Takes about 15-20 mins. Cost for all day rides on the tram is $29 adults.
