We had a great time staying at the Silverbow Inn. Our bed was really comfortable, this staff was nice, the breakfast was wonderful. The bagel joint attached is great, the baked goodies - awesome. The inn is close to anything you might want to see in downtown Juneau. The roof top hot tub was a great way to warm up on a cold Juneau night.

Loved it... Staff was great, room was nice, we made use of the rooftop hot tub, and the included breakfast was amazing (you get a coupon that allows you to eat anything you want, basically.) The only glitch was a housekeeping issue the first two days we were there... once we couldn't tell if anyone had come in. That problem cleared up, though, after the first two days. Highly recommended.

Walk into the Silverbow Inn in downtown Juneau and you feel like you are entering into a hotel lobby from the 20s. The front room is tastefully decorated with antiques and memorabilia, but just around the corner is a restaurant and art gallery that is probably one of the coolest spots in the city of Juneau.

The hotel's rooms have been completely refurbished with modern amenities like jacuzzi jets in the bathtub, an iPod player, and a flat screen TV. And no worries if you forgot your yoga mat; this is just one of the many things the hotel will provide the forgetful traveler.

On the second floor is an outdoor garden/roof deck with a hot tub. Relax and enjoy an elevated view of the city, as well as the meticulously maintained potted plants that line the periphery of the deck.

In the mornings, enjoy *fastastic* complimentary coffee and tea. The tea selection alone will make you want to move in for good so you can try them all. Fresh bagels and assorted baked goods are also available all day (while they last!) and are fresh baked in the restaurant down the hall, which is incidentally Alaska's oldest operating bakery. Vegetarians can count on a fresh container of hummus for their morning protein intake, and vegans might even jump up and down when they see that there is actually soy milk in the fridge.

Do treat yourself to a real meal from the restaurant during your stay. Everything they serve is top notch, fresh and healthy. It's the kind of place you could imagine popping in most days for a afternoon cup or a snack if you were a local. For now, you can just pretend.

Unfortunately I missed the wine social every night of my stay as I was out and about doing research for some articles on the area, but do plan to take advantage of this if you are at the Silverbow for more than one night. Most nights, I entered the lobby to see groups of strangers sharing bottles and stories well into the evening. Definitely a fun way to connect with other travelers.

Another cool aspect of the property is the owners, Jill Ramiel and Ken Alper, who are originally from New York City and have certainly brought with them an element of urban edginess. Jill seems to front the show, and has been featured in numerous articles about women in business in Alaska. Ken can be spotted behind the scenes in the bakery.

Overall, this is definitely THE place to stay in Juneau, and has a ton more character and luxury than the majority of hotels out there. Thanks Silverbow for a wonderful stay in Juneau!

This was a great place to stay. We loved the historic building, the interesting pictures on the walls, and a great atmosphere. The open eating area was a great way to meet other interesting travelers. The place was clean and the hosts were very helpful.

I loved everything about our stay. Friendly and enthusiastic welcome, great company and conversation around the dining table along with fabulous lemon squares and wine tasting. Right next door is the Silverbow Bakery with awesome cookies and great bagel sandwiches for our ferry ride back to Sitka. Thanks for a great experience ....
