You’ll see I had a previous review for a not so hot place on the same trip. Because my husband was speaking at a convention and was a later addition, someone booked through Orbitz and we got that horrible place. If you read my review you’ll see that the manager didn’t address some of my concerns like turning on the heat and “Febreezing” the room.

Anyway, after two days of repeatedly calling every hotel to see if they had any cancellations, I was able to secure rooms at the prospect hotel. It was like a dream come true. I think the room was quite a bit less price than the fleabag hotel. We had two double beds, a balcony, two layers of curtains, two closets, chairs to recline in, microwave and fridge in a bar sink. There was a restaurant on site that was fine. This was like an oasis. And even had we not had a bad experience this was a very good price. We could see out over the harbor, although they warned us that it was not a view room. And best of all I felt like I could take my shoes off.

My only issue was that they insisted the room would not be ready until 3 o’clock, and the reality was that the desk clerk did not know how to check people in. This became evident as the lobby was full of people clamoring to check in at 3 o’clock. The new person on duty was trying to explain to the person who is trying to leave and go home how to check people in and it was a little bit of a mess. Also if you had to leave your bags early you just put them in a conference room where other people were hanging out and waiting so it wasn’t secure.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed 5 star review. It is very helpful to us to know about any glitches and its always good to hear when our staff is doing well. We will look into the issue that you had with the check in process to ensure that it is resolved. The Prospector Hotel does have oversized rooms that allow you to stretch out and we do take cleanliness very seriously. We hope to see you the next time that you return to Juneau!

Tammi, Miguel, Chase and Shana provide great service for our annual fundraiser. The food was great, and the staff very helpful. There were a couple of events happening at the same time and service was not inpacted. Thank you!

Great location downtown, lots of space in room. All the amenities, even with fridge for leftovers. Breakfast downstairs conveniently located, with a classy dining area and view of water and mountains. Avocado toast and fruit was spot on. Museum next door, other restaurants in walking distance. Convenient parking underground of hotel was time-saver since it snowed. Friendly folks at first desk. Always a great place to stay- thanks.

Room tip: 2&3rd floor easier to access and don't need elevator.

Great place to stay! Our room was clean and comfortable, and the view of the bay and mountains couldn't have been more breathtaking. Short walk to downtown, and even shorter one to a store & restaurants, but I'd say the restaurant in the hotel was top-notch. Management went out of their way for us by accepting a voucher from Delta Airlines (BIG THANKS to the manager for working with us!). The staff was pleasant & friendly. We will certainly stay there again if we ever come back to Alaska.

Room tip: Get a room that faces the bay!

We really appreciate your 5 star review. Our staff works very hard to make each experience a good one be that at the hotel or at TK Maguire's Restaurant. Thank you for letting us know that we accomplished this with you. We hope that you return soon.
