“Great way to combine visits to Gull Island and Seldovia”
Reviewed June 12, 2012

Rainbow Tours offers a seven hour day cruise from Homer to Seldovia, that on the outbound journey stops by Gull Island and sails through the scenic Eldred Passage. We would highly recommend this routing for the day tripper to Seldovia. Gull Island is worth seeing with over 15,000 birds in residence. Rainbow Tours on boat personnel offer very helpful comments and are excellent about wildlife spotting. We found Victoria to be particularly informative and helpful.
This day cruise allows for three hours in Seldovia, which for most people, will be sufficient. It gives one plenty of time to lunch and walk around the town before returning to Homer.

“Fantastic halibut fishing”
Reviewed May 24, 2012 via mobile

We went out on a half day halibut fishing charter. The captain and helper were great. They brought us to this location that as soon as you dropped your line.... The fish were on. Thanks for a great day!

“Worst fishing charter ever.”
Reviewed April 14, 2012

The captain was rude, arrogant and disrespectful. At one point, he even threw his own garbage (soda can) into the water and shot it with a gun - and he wasn't shooting from the back of the boat either. It was the worst paid experience we ever have had with a fishing charter.

“A Beautiful Day In Seldovia”
Reviewed September 16, 2011

My Dad and I went on the wildlife watching cruise to Seldovia. It was a beautiful sunny day and there were lots of sea otters floating which was very cute. I was hoping to see puffins and we saw a few, the boat captain slowed down everytime they spotted wildlife so everyone could have a good look and get lots of pictures. We sat at the back of the boat which was nice but you probably wouldn't want to sit there on a cold day. Seldovia was just beautiful, we really enjoyed spending our afternoon there sitting in the sun enjoying our lunch and then wandering around the village. We found a cute little book and antique shop along the river, who sold coffee and cold drinks so we spent quite a bit of time here chatting with the locals and writing postcards (there was a small post office there). This trip was a highlight of our trip to Alaska and made an otherwise uneventful stay in Homer worthwhile. I would highly reccomend anyone coming to Homer to do the wildlife cruise/Seldovia trip.

“Seldovia tour - nice attention to details”
Reviewed September 2, 2011

The female-crewed Rainbow Connection tour to Seldovia was a highlight of our visit to Homer. Victoria was a most gracious hostess, who gave a lot of personal attention to her passengers. Captain Monica slowed and steered the vessel often to give us the best vantage point to view and photograph wildlife. The price - $40 pp for seniors - was the best rate found. The vessel was well-maintained - the head was even nicely decorated. :) This was a lovely tour to a charming town - lots of photo opportunities of prolific and unusual flowers, stilted houses and intricate chainsaw art.
