Great way to spend a couple of hours. Excellent displays and films. We seemed to be the only ones there (late September).... and a geo-cache.

Lots of information available at the center and the staff are a wealth of info. Would certainly spend more time on our next visit.

Great visitor center, we almost skipped it but are glad we didn't. Videos are worth the time. The boardwalk to the beach has beautiful views. Great small bookstore/gift shop.

“Interesting and FREE”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

We were going to skip this, but it was close to our hotel and free (rare in Alaska). The center is well done, definitely watch the videos. We spent about an hour here. The boardwalk to the beach is very pretty, we were there on a sunny day and the views were incredible. Bookstore is small, but has some great selections.

“Very well presented displays.”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

Popped in to pick up brochures on the area and were very impressed by the quality of the exhibits and the depth of information about the area, the history, the wildlife, etc. The videos were short enough to keep your attention but still had sufficient information to make them informative. Staff were very helpful, not just about the center itself, but about the area and what to see, were to go. Definitely worth stopping in for a while if you're in the Homer area.
