“Great Pizza and main dishes”
Reviewed July 22, 2007

We ate at Fat Olives after a long day sightseeing. We were in the mood for pizza and we had one of the best pizzas ever. The next night we were going to try another restaurant but we were unable to pass them by and ending up eating there that night and one more after that. The owner is noticeably present doing everything from greeting, seating, serving and even busing tables. It is apparent that her attention to detail, a great wine list and menu are what keep this place packed. Would highly recommend.

“Try the anitpasta”
Reviewed July 14, 2007

Had the opportunity to eat at Fat Olives during the last week of June 2007. The first night we were in Homer we got to Fat Olives just a few minutes after it closed. We returned the next night around 5:15 and waited just a few minutes until a table was ready. While waiting on a table, the hostess took our drink order and told us to sit on the couch. Within a few minutes, she took us to our table and we checked out the menu. We had originally planned to have a caesar salad and a small anitpasta. Well after checking out the menu, we settled on a medium pizza and an antipasta dish. Thankfully we ordered the small antipasta because it was huge!!! The pizza was great and we really enjoyed the meal. Even our waiter was from the same state as us so we had a good chat with him.

Fat Olives is a great place to eat! The desserts are also great looking but we were toooo full to eat one after we got finished with our meal. We will eat at Fat Olives when we return to Homer!

“Great pizza place!!”
Reviewed June 16, 2007

Great food and very warm atmosphere! Fat Olives has brick ovens to make their pizza in and it makes the restaurant warm and smell wonderful! In this tiny town of Homer, everybody knows everybody, and the waiters make you feel right at home!

I ate here twice during my short stay. I had the pizza to go for lunch one afternoon. It's perfect to take for a picnic or back to your bed and breakfast. They do have a few tables outside, but it was a bit chilly for me! It's fairly cheap -$5 for a HUGE piece of pizza. You only need one slice.

Later one evening I had dinner here. The chese fondue is wonderful- lots of cheese and mushrooms, served with really great homemade bread. They had several wines to choose from, but I got hooked on Red Know Scottish Ale- a beer brewed in Homer. Worth giving a try if you like light beer.

Oh, and don't order too much- portions are large! Definately enough food to split!

“Fat Olives, Full Belly!”
Reviewed June 1, 2007

This is a nice upscale restaurant. It used to be an old school bus garage, you would never know it! This place is nicely decorated and has a cool bar with a variety of wines. The menu also has a variety of calzones, pizzas, salads & awesome cheesecake that is made by the owner. I recommend her lemon blueberry cheesecake,it was awesome. The
owner & staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean and smoke free. Reasonably priced and good portions, huge calzones.

“Best pizza in town !!!”

Fat Olive's has the best pizza on the Kenai Peninsula hands down !! If your SUPER hungry, get the large-to go pizza. It's huge.
This place sure knows pizza, & the staff is awesome.
