We rented an RV slot for one night in October. The Inn is directly across the street from the water. I walked along the beach and saw two bald eagles just in front of the Inn. The bathroom facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the water was hot. Staff was friendly and helpful. There are lots of dining choices within walking distance.

Always stay at the Driftwood and recommend my visiting friends there too. They have a great staff and located in a perfect area in Old Town. Rooms are very reasonable in the fall and winter. Great place for overnight or long term!

This is a historic building with original location ambiance. Compact sized rooms are European style and may have shared or private bath. Lovely back porch available to sit and savor nearby beach front, mountains and observe local eagle's perches. Location is ideal for strolling on beach, short walk to local eateries, art gallery, wonderful visitor information center, marine institute, banks and grocery store. A short cab ride from Homer airport and short drive to famous Homer Spit and Harbor. Good base if you will be fishing or further exploring surrounding natural areas. Inn staff is personable while keeping building and rooms tidy and clean. If you prefer to walk and experience the area face to face in real time: this is the place. Staff is very helpful to make suggestions and answer questions about the Inn by phone prior to booking. There are other Driftwood options shown on website if you prefer larger accommodations.

Room Tip: Choose upstairs harbor view room unless you cannot climb stairs and go onto website to view & select room

The Driftwood Inn was a great place to stay as I headed from Homer to catch a ferry to Kodiak. It was a long drive and the accommodations were exactly as stated in the information and the pictures on-line with Trip Advisor were exactly what was offered. The price was reasonable and the entire Inn was immaculate. The staff member at check in and another early in the morning were friendly and offered information on where to find food and other necessities. The room was "eat off the floor clean" as was the shared bathroom. The other guests seemed responsible and the noise level was very quiet. I was only there for one night but the bed was as comfortable as other places I have stayed in Alaska. Linens and towels were clean and fresh. The atmosphere is historic of Alaska and indoor pass-time activities made it like visiting the home of a relative who knew you needed entertainment when it was inclement weather! I would easily plan to stay again when visiting Homer.

Geat location near beach and Old Town. Accommodated our truck camper and 2 dogs well. Very clean and well designed hot showers. Staff was knowledgable and friendly. Owners show pride in their property and care about their guests.
