Camped here on an RV trip around Alaska last summer. This was the best place we stayed. Clean facilities, beautiful views, and really helpful people staffing the small RV park and adjacent hotel. Homer is pretty spread out, more than it seemed from the guidebooks. We were able to walk to a few galleries from the Driftwood, but we needed a cab for the Spit and for some restaurants. However, I don't think there would be anywhere in Homer for an RV'er to completely go wheelless.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the spacious accommodations, fabulous views and peaceful-homey feel. The staff met every need with a smile and we would definitely return to the Driftwood Inn the next time we journey to Homer. Hands down a suburb value and great family destination. We loved the short walk to the water and hiking along the coast.

We stayed in Homer at the Driftwood Inn before doing some camping. The room was only slightly more expensive than the yurts we were camping in! Such a terrific value. The room was clean, cozy, and we had impeccable service. The staff here truly cares about your stay and went out of their way to be helpful, even offering us some extra homemade baked goods! (Speaking of which, it's a short walk down the road to Two Sisters Bakery (http://twosistersbakery.net), which is a must-visit for a coffee to-go and a walk along the beach. We loved our stay here so much, we booked again on our way home, instead of driving up the coast and staying somewhere else, as we had planned. This place is a gem, and a definite must for a quintessential Homer experience! Thanks for making our trip great.

We were visiting Homer for a friend's wedding and stayed at the Driftwood Inn right on the coast. We had an amazing view of the water, and the room was spacious, clean and very cozy. The location was within walking distance of a number of places to dine or to grab some baked goods or a drink. It was also a 1 minute drive away from the highway to get anywhere in town you needed.

We had a great stay, and the staff were helpful but generally we didn't need any assistance - we just enjoyed our time in Homer, in the room and out!

My husband and I have stayed at Kachemak Cottage several times during the summer. We lived in Alaska many years but now live in the lower 48 and travel north in the hot months with friends to show them the great state. This is our favorite place on the Kenai Peninsula. The location is fantastic. A bald eagle was on the neighboring roof every morning. The water view is exquisite. There are several very good restaurants within walking distance. We have stayed on the Spit before but prefer to be in Homer due to the jam of humanity that takes over the Spit in the summer.

Beautiful location and very knowledgeable locals who can assist with any activity you may want to do and maybe spin a yarn or two in the process. Had the Ship's Quarters for a night, room was clean, bed was great and everything is as described. Highly recommended.

We loved our cozy little room, our easy stroll to the beach (and a couple good restaurants), the accommodating staff and the reasonable price. I never had to wait for the shared bathroom (and even during my morning shower, didn't seem to have anyone waiting on me). We had a partial view of the ocean, little coffee maker in our room and comfortable night's sleep.
