“A Boat Trip Worth Taking”
Reviewed May 20, 2012

The ride is comfortable but take a jacket. You'll need a camera to take pics of the Bird Island and the Sea Otters. Maybe even a whale! But the staff is super polite and helpful. There are drinks and snacks available for you and it's a tolerable length. Not to long to get to Seldovia Village. The Village is quaint and a few nice shops to look at. Not a lot to do there but walk around. Make sure it's a nice day when you go.

“Wonderful Trip to Seldovia”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

The Seldovia Bay Ferry is the most comfortable way to get to Seldovia from Homer. There is plenty of room to walk around and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We took the ferry in September. The captain told us that there really wasn't much to see on Gull Island that time of year, but he would be glad to detour to the part of the bay that had a pod of whales in residence. It was incredible. Whales came up right next to the ferry. During that time of year there is not much open in Seldovia. But, we got a feel for the quaint little Alaskan village that Seldovia is. You can rent 4-wheelers and explore, or just walk around. For those folks that think Seldovia is boring..............you probably need to plan a trip to Disney World or something for your next vacation. This is Alaska. You are supposed to soak up the clean air and pristine landscape. Enjoy the Last Frontier before it becomes another tourist trap.
