“30th Anniversary Alaska Trip”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

We had originally planned to eat at one of the more well known restaurants on the spit but the wait for a table there was almost 2 hours. So we decided to try the Fresh Catch Cafe since it was recommended by the staff at our lodge. They were able to accommodate us in the entry seating area. While we weren't able to experience the view from the dining area it was still a comfortable area to eat. My wife and I had the two specials that night. I had a pasta dish with King Crab and Halibut and she had a shrimp and scallops pasta. Both were delicious and we were not over filled, but very satisfied with the portions. In all one of the best meals we had while in Alaska.

“Over-priced and under-fed...”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

We are local and went out for a birthday dinner. We had been there on a previous occasion during lunch and we thought is was OK...
Well,, it was over $60 per couple and we had to stop at the store of the way home to get something else to eat. The interior is nothing super nor is the food... Ok but not great...
The halibut fish and chips was dry and I had 8 flipping French Fries... Plus the halibut tasted a lot like cod... Hmm.....

Fresh cafe in the middle of the spit. Such a sunny place to visit for lunch. Everything we had was delicious.

“NOT WORTH THE PRICE”
Reviewed August 26, 2013 via mobile

We had read good reviews on the "Fresh Catch Cafe", but we thought it over-priced. It was 6::30 in the evening & they had already had sold out of boiled peel & eat shrimp (we are in Homer AK on the beach, so you would think they would have shrimp). I ordered a salad & ask for ranch dressing & received a vinegar type dressing, asked for ranch & received blue cheese. Our trip at this cafe was less than memorable. Hope yours is better.

“Tasty fish, wonderful chowder!”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

Our kayak guide in Seward told us not to miss Fresh Catch Cafe in Homer (our next stop on our trip). She said they had the best chowder on the planet, and it was indeed very very good. The halibut tacos were excellent. My daughter had a salmon curry that was fabulous, and our sons enjoyed the halibut. The service was great too. I really didn't expect to find such good food at this little place along the Homer spit.........but this was a real find. Highly recommended.
