“What a great day on the Nauti-Lady.”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

We went on 2 half-day charters on the Nauti-Lady with 7 family members. The fishing was amazing! We all caught our limit both days. Capt. John and the deckhands Tino and Richard did everything for us.
The boat, along with the restrooms were spotless.
The enclosed cabin was warm and there was free coffee, spiced cider and hot chocolate.
What a wonderful trip. We will never use another charter.

“2 trips Katilak and Nauti Lady”
Reviewed July 18, 2012

1st trip the six guys on the katilak. Fast boat 1 1/2 hours to fishing grounds. Deck hand "Kentucky" really friendly. Boat was clean, head worked. While fishing we got to know Capt Mike as he told us stories of the history in the area. Alot of fun. Nauti Lady, party of 11 rented the boat for the day. Asked for alittle variety so the family could experience more than just halibut fishing. Caot. John delivered, as we left the harbor, we jigged for bait fish, I don't remember what they were, but they would bite right away, after 4 or five minutes we had enough and we departed. Slower that the Katilak 2 hours + a touch until we reached the fishing grounds. Caught some halibut and the tide changed, so he switched us to Rock Bass. That was fun we hooked 2 Lingcod, one a fifty pounder, not open season has to release. Also some other fish that I can't remember the names of. Tide changed an we went back after the halibut. Everybody caught fish. It rained most of the day, but we were prepared with raingear, didn't really bother anybody. Watching the deckhands fillet the fish while underway back to port is something. Boat bouncing in the waves while they work razor sharp knives. It's a work of art. The Nauti Lady is a 50'er if you have a group renting it for the day is great. Smooth ride vs the faster a little choppier Katilak. Capt John customized the trip to give us three different fishing experiences. The deckhands work really hard and are very friendly and patient.

“Capt. Mike and Katilak are the way to go.”
Reviewed July 11, 2012

We booked this trip 6 months before. We got to Homer and the weather wasn't the best. We met Capt. Mike and deck hand Lucas at the boat with the other 4 passengers on this 6 pack trip. We went out and sure enough the weather wasn't going to allow us to get to Capt. Mikes favorite fishing grounds. He worked his magic, and after a few tries we were on some fish. We caught probably 28 fish and kept 3 of the Halibut that were of good size and without the "chaulk" disease that is affecting halibut this year. It was fun, exausting, and we have the sore arms to prove it. Thanks Capt, Mike and Lucas

“Excellent 1st timer family experience”
Reviewed July 10, 2012 via mobile

Chartered a 1/2 day trip with Captain John and the Nauti-Lady for our family of 4 with 2 teenage daughters. Everyone said we had to try fishing in Homer, but the family was hesitant. After reviewing the great reviews on Trip Advisor, we decided the 1/2 day was just the ticket. Signed up for morning group, as weather generally better in morning and was rewarded with a sunny, clear day. Smooth motoring out to Captain's secret Halibut spot and let the hooks flight. Crew baits the hooks, removes the fish, and untangles the occasional (ok frequent for my daughters) tangled lines, so VERY easy to do for all. Whole family caught our limit (2 per) and ended up with 45 lbs of Halibut to ship home after the deck hands skillfully cleaned and filleted on way back to dock. Captain John is great with the kids and they loved his and the crews encouragements to keep a line in the water. Easy booking with helpful staff, great captain and crew, and the fish processor meets you at the dock, so hassle-free processing and shipping as well. Don't be shy, give it a try and you won't be disappointed.
