Cranes Rest B & B was a delightful place to stay. The rooms were immaculate; the beds comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. We brought home some recipes too. Hosts Julie and Steve were helpful regarding local activities and sites. The view from their home and deck cannot be beat. It is a short drive from central Homer and worth it. We were very comfortable and would definitely look to stay here again. Homer would be a wonderful location to live.

My daughter and I had a great time. The room was great and the view was incredible! Julie is a great cook and hostess. was a very gracious host, he even spotted a bear on the mountain with his binoculars so we could see. I would highly reommend Crane's Rest when you're in Homer!

We stayed here 3 nights of our active visit to Homer and felt very comfortable and welcome. The B&B is a short drive outside of town, which I liked, in a quiet residential area with a pretty view and Sandhill Cranes in the yard. Took a drive further up the road one night to a great restaurant and saw gorgeous views of the Bay and more Cranes, Eagles, and a Mama Moose with twins! We stayed in a downstairs room that was cute, clean, and comfy, and had access to the patio area, and upstairs deck. We could put food & beverages in their frig, or get coffee in the kitchen anytime. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, something for everyone- yogurt, fruit, toast, omelets, sausage-family style at a big table with fresh flowers. We had the "to-go" breakfast before fishing & a kayak outing-a breakfast sandwich, fruit, granola bar, & a candy treat. Steve
and Julie have a lovely home and adorable dog Tess that they share with guests and seem
happy to be doing it! We had privacy when we wanted it and also enjoyed chatting with other guests at breakfast or our hosts in the evening. I loved getting the local perspective on living in Homer and learning a little of what it's like to be in the B&B business in Alaska. Also loved hearing bear stories and moose hunting tales from Steve! This was one of my favorite stays in Alaska--if you're visiting Homer and are unsure about staying at a B&B, please take my advice and try this one for a real "home away from home" experience!

Room tip: We liked our downstairs room for it's private entrance.

We stayed two nights here while visiting Homer. Julie and Steve were wonderful hosts.
We would definitely recommend staying here, accommodations were great and Julie fixed us
a delicious breakfast. We got to see the beautiful red Sand Crans in their back yard. Steve pointed out a black bear on a hill behind the house, with his scope. While in Homer we took the ferry out to Halibut Cove for dinner and went on a sea kayaking tour around Yukon Island.

We just returned from a weekend stay at Crane's Rest in Homer Alaska with some friends. Julie and Steve were exceptional hosts - leaving us plenty of privacy to prepare and rest up from our halibut fishing, sharing their fabulous deck and view (including the sandhill cranes that made strategic visits while we were watching), and preparing lovely "to go" breakfast and a sit-down breakfast that was delicious during our stay. We shared the 2-room suite with our friends and were quite comfortable. We would recommend Crane's Rest highly, and look forward to our next visit to Homer and staying here again. Thank you for making it a wonderful and relaxing stay.
