Steve, Julie and Tess (the dog) were fun to be around! All were ready to help with anything needed -- from a special room to hang and dry wet gear to using the clothes dryer to getting licks and snuggles.
Room was nice, but small. Interior was clean as a whistle, bed was comfy and bathroom shower was warm and powerful. Location is out of town slightly, but the view is fabulous. Personally, we like being away from noise and crowds.
Wish the weather had been drier when we were there because we would have loved to sat out on the upper deck, viewing and sipping.
Would definitely stay here again when back in Alaska.

We spent three nights at Crane's Rest at the end of July and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. First of all, somewhat to our surprise, Homer is a beautiful town with incredible scenery. The room we had was perfect for us- very comfortable, with a private entrance and private bath. The room was not huge, but more than adequate for our needs. We got to see the cranes from our window, very interesting birds, and were one day late on seeing a mama moose and her two calves in the backyard. The best part of the stay was the friendliness of the innkeepers. They treated us as family and couldn't have been more accomodating. They loaned us boots and helped us get our fishing licenses. They also assisted us with shipping home our fish. They made early breakfast for us when we had excursions that required us to get an early start. All of this was offered spontaneously, without us having to ask. Very impressive. Their dog, Tess, was also a joy. We hope to get a chance to visit again.

We stayed here for 1 night in early August. The B&B is about 10 minutes drive from the Spit in a very quiet area.
Julie met us when we arrived and was welcoming. She showed us to our room which had basic decor and a bit small with a Queen size bed that was comfortable. There was a small flat screen TV mounted on the wall and Wi-Fi was included but in our room (not sure about other rooms) it was very slow and most times cut out completely. The bathroom was adequate and had all we needed. Breakfast was very good.
From the backyard you can see the bay, snow capped mountains and a spectacular glacier.

Pictures are attached.
Happy traveling

We stayed at the Crane's Rest for 3 nights while in Homer. Four adults occupied two rooms. We all loved our stay. Kind welcoming people, they made my husband a breakfast "to go" when he had to catch an early fishing charter. Clean, comfortable, and welcoming, I will not stay anywhere else when in Homer. I loved this place!
