The Pratt museum has a great display of local history and their people. If you have a couple of hours it is a great way to learn some local culture. They have a lot packed into a small place. My wife and 3 teenage boys loved learning about the early life of Homer’s early days. Well worth the small admission fee and seeing the exhibits

So glad we visited this local museum. It helped us better understand the people of this unique area of America. they had several videos that were extremely interesting. The live bird cams were fascinating.

Enjoyed the first floor exhibits. Learned a great deal about the local history and culture from the Kachemak Bay an exploration of people and place. Videos of three locals was particularly interesting and included the Kilcher’s. The marine and stewardship galleries are also interesting and shouldn’t be skipped.

Our cruise ship spent the day in Homer and we enjoyed spending time at the Pratt Museum.. Reasonably priced and the staff was so pleasant .. Lots of great displays and information.Enjoyed a leisurely pace looking at everything.
We visited the small cabin outside and enjoyed listening to a lovely lady named CORA share stories of her life in Homer.
She definitely needs to write a book about her life!! We would definitely purchase it!!!
The day we visited was the last day the museum was open for the season -so glad we de died to check it out!!!

This is a small yet excellent museum that is well curated. A visit is highly recommended to make your stay on the Kenai Peninsula more relevant.

Lots of good information on the area, the people, the 1964 earthquake and the Exxon Valdez spill. This is a well done museum for such a small town. If you are interested in what makes Homer such a treasure, this is the place to go.

Lots of interesting memorabilia and good history of the Homer area. Several good movies and interactive exhibits to interest young and old alike. One video is a historical summary of the Kilcher family (Alaska The Last Frontier) in Homer.

To do it right would take several hours to take it all in. There are 3 floors of exhibits according to categories. Cost is $10, $8 for seniors and worth every penny.
