Park's Edge Log Cabins
Reviewed August 5, 2009

My family of 13 stayed at the Park's Edge cabins on our recent trip to Denali. All were overall pleased with the accomodations. The cabins were clean and comfortable, even if a tad bit on the small side for a group of 4 or more in the deluxe cabins.

The only slight downfall of the cabins we saw were that the cabins could use heavier draperies to block out the evening light. With it still being light at midnight, the cabins were still fairly light even with all the blinds/curtains drawn.

Overall, given the price and location, our family would stay at the cabins again if we were in the area.

Very friendly and helpful folks run this place. Communication before our stay via email and telephone was flawless. Our cabin was clean and comfortable, although somehow a few yellowjackets found a way to sneak in. Never ran out of hot water, even with four of us taking a shower. Close enough to the park to be convenient. And the price was very reasonable.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at Parks Edge Log Cabins and we would definitely stay here again if we were going to be at Denali. It is an easy 10-15 minute drive to the park. The cabin was a little small but quite cozy and immaculately clean. Very quiet. There was daily maid service. The room had a bed, clockradio, table+2 chairs, bathroom (shower & toilet), mirror & sink (outside the bathroom) and a coffee maker, but no microwave or fridge. There is a small fridge in the office that guests are welcome to use. It was a good value for the Denali area.
My only complaint is that the curtains allow a lot of light into the room. We were there during the summer when it never gets dark, and the room was bright all night long. Bring eye shades.
We liked Rose's Cafe for breakfast (mile marker 249.5). There is also a restaurant (Black Diamond Golf Course) close to Parks Edge that serves breakfast, lunch & dinner, but we didn't try them.

Stayed at this cabin the end of June 09. Owner was friendly and actually turned around and came back to let us in early. Cabin was cozy and quiet. Had soap and other amenities. She even has little carts/wagons where you can load your luggage and wheel them down to your cabin. All and all a great value. The best part was taking a little drive on the road near the cabin and seeing a moose and her 2 calves right off the road. There is a little pretty lake in walking distance as well. Would recommend as an alternative to the busy front entrance of Denali, plus it's not far from Denali.

We wanted a nice, inexpensive place to base our Denali excursions out of, and Park's Edge fit the bill perfectly. We stayed in one of the small cabins for 3 nights. The cabins are well maintained and were exceptionally clean. There was daily room service - something we hadn't expected. The cabin had a double bed, small love seat, bathroom, coffee pot and sink. Instead of a bathroom sink, there is a small counter with a kitchen sink. This worked out perfectly for cleaning off gear and filling water bottles for day hikes in Denali.

The 1-3 person cabin we stayed in was tiny. While it wasn't cramped, there certainly was not a lot of extra space. The bed is a double bed (anything bigger wouldn't have fit). The small bed and soft mattress were our only minor complaints.

It isn't advertised on the Park's Edge website, but the cabins do have free wireless internet - coverage was somewhat spotty when we used it once or twice (but, it was good enough to send a quick e-mail).

Heidi was very accommodating and friendly. I would definitely stay here again on a return trip to Denali.

Parks Edge was an excellent place to stay in Denali. Jonathan and Heidi were very helpful. They also guided us with the activities we could do locally. The cabins were neat and clean and well equipped. The prices were very competitive in comparsion with other accomdations nearby. I would definately recommend this place to friends and family.

It's just a short distance from Denali.... It was great! Very Very Clean!
And it was the nicest and the cheapest place we stayed on our trip!
It was perfect for us!! On the way to the cabin that evening we even seen some moose on the road near the cabin. We got there late and left early... but it was perfect for what we wanted!!!!
