Off the glitter gultch area. Peaceful and private. Wi fi is free but unreliable.Cabin was kind of cramp and sparsely furnished. There was nowhere to put our clothes except to keep them in the suitcases. Lack of shelves and closet space. No cable.
Baked goods were provided everyday for guests. No on site cafe or restaurant.
Road leading to the place is a gravel not paved. This is the place for you if you want to be far from the "strip" for lesser traffic.
If you need modern conveniences like cable, internet then you might want to reconsider.

We spent one night in the Southview suite and it was perfect. We had a great view of the mountains and it was very quiet around the property although a little tricky to find. Although we didn't use it in the short time we were there, the room had a small kitchenette which would have perfect for bringing food in. The room was clean and spacious, with one double bed and two twin beds. The owner's son welcomed us when we arrived and graciously and professionally showed us to our room, which was nice. The room is on the second floor which wasn't a problem for us but might be an issue if you have trouble hauling luggage up the stairs. We appreciated the fresh baked bread and the restaurant recommendations provided in the room.

It's a B&B located in a country neighborhood. The plain room we stayed in was over the garage and very large. Walking to the entrance you went through the building supply area that needed cleaning up. The bed was hard and a bit squeaky. The breakfast part was disappointing as it was 2 scones on a plate in our room. You are located in a remote area. It was quiet. Based on other reviews I was expecting more. There's nothing wrong with the room - it was big, clean and served the purpose.

We spent 3 nights in the North Suite room on the upper floor. The room was quite comfortable, and spacious. Environs were nice. Ann-Marie is an excellent hostess who is warm and friendly.

She serves a fresh baked item for breakfast everyday, which is very well cooked. Otherwise, we had brought in our cooking supplies for breakfast. Everything about the place was fine. There was even a laundry facility on the premises, which we used on the last day.

My only suggestion is: I would have expected a sofa or a couch in a suite, to make it more comfortable. That would have upped my rating of this property to EXCELLENT. Otherwise, a fine place to stay near Denali, and you will not find a more warm hearted hostess than Ann Marie.

Comfortable little cabin away from the "glitter gulch" area near the Park entrance. Very clean and secluded. Thanks to Anne-Marie for the delicious home-baked goodies to go with our morning coffee! If you stay here, you'll have to try 49th State for Alaskan brews and pub grub and the classy 229 Restaurant for more gourmet fare.

We disembarked our cruise in Whittier, took a bus transfer to ANC, and then rented a car and drove to Denali National Park. Make sure you stop at a Fred Meyer grocery store along the way so you have some snacks, water, etc for your long day in the Park. These cabins are just a short drive north of the park and are exactly the setting you what you want when you are in the wilderness! They are comfortable and precious. Don't stay in the pricier lodges associated with the cruislines. It is nice to have your own car, and this option was way cheaper than riding the train up to Denali or Fairbanks. It's nice to be able to stop whenever you want and explore other things without being at the mercy of the cruiseline transportation. You are allowed to drive 15 miles into Denali National Park with your own car. We did this the day after we took the park shuttle bus and were able to see a cow moose and her calf. Also, we opted to take one of the park shuttles 6 hours to Kantishna, and then we flew back via Kat-Air for $225 pp. It was a glorious option to see the mountains since 33% of the time the mountains are not "out" from the clouds. The absolute BEST part of the Aspen Haus for us, was Ann Marie and Ted. We found a kindred spirit in Ann Marie and were in awe of her worldliness and knowledge of traveling. Yes, her baked goods were incredible, but we could have talked with her for hours. Her husband Ted also gave us some excellent pointers for our day in the park, telling us to sit on the left side of the shuttle bus and recommended the unique little 49th State Brewery for dinner. Loved every minute of our stay here!
