Stillpoint Lodge holds several retreats during the summer months and I was there teaching a design workshop for quilters. It was three days of heaven, an escape from the craziness of city life. Stillpoint staff are incredible and every single detail is attended to, from the locally produced food to the daily outings offered by experts, to the individual cabins. I stayed in the Hermitage which is a fully contained cottage with an amazing view of Halibut Cove. Although we were in class six hours daily, after hours entertainment included massage, hikes, sea kayaking, tide pooling, and relaxing in the sumptuous main lodge. Art is everywhere and surprises the observant viewer during walks. It's an amazing place to stay.
The staff are mostly volunteers that are working for room and board. Although excellent care is provided in all areas, their only compensation is tips, so please be generous.
