After two weeks of skiing and being outside we really enjoyed staying two nights at the Summer Inn. The rooms are clean and nice, we had a excellent sleep and enjoyed it very much to stay with Albert who is a great owner and a very nice host. Next time we'll come to you again,

Thanks, Dominik and Clemens

We arrived in Haines in the early morning hours and spent the day in Skagway. The fast ferry was late getting back into Haines because of a wind storm, but Hannah was waiting for us. She was very friendly and showed us our room. Yes, they are small but plenty large enough for a night's stay - what more do you need! The showers were separate from the bathrooms which was convenient. Our breakfast was good and we had a great conversation between our host and the other guests.

Room Tip: We had a room on the main floor. I know there were rooms upstairs but didn't see them.

Stayed here recently. Hannah seems like a lovely person, but engaged in very little conversation - she definitely did not initiate the conversation. Did not even care to ask how we were doing, or how well we slept each night. The rooms are clean, functional but extremely small. The beds have no springs (we checked all the beds upstairs) - none of us (3 friends) had a decent sleep here. Breakfasts were carbohydrate rich, and minimal. Pancakes, a couple of slices of bacon and a sliver (literally) of cantelope. The second day we asked for eggs - I think we each had one scrambled egg with a sliver of cantelope. When we asked for more was told that there was nothing left. There was not even an offer of any toast with the meal. For the cost, I have to say that it was not worth it. We shared one small room with a double bed and twin bed - the cost for the 3 of us - each night was almost $150. Definitely not worth it. I had stayed here a couple of years ago, and it seemed much nicer and friendlier. I won't be back.

I have had the chance to stay at the Summer Inn a number of times over the past few years and each stay has been memorable. The inn is located right in the heart of Haines within easy walking distance of everything you would need. The decor is cozy and the living room offers great views of the water and is a snug place to ride out bad weather with a blanket and a book. The rooms are tidy and the inn offers various room configurations to fit different group needs. I have always found the innkeepers to be knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions for activities around town and are often accommodating to special requests if within reason. The Summer Inn is a great place to stay!

Sight unseen, we booked the last room at this B&B and arrived from the ferry the following night around 9:00. Hannah, the inn keeper (not owner), was pleasant, showed us two shared bathrooms/showers downstairs and full bath with claw-footed tub upstairs. Our upstairs room was small and clean with two twin beds. The room's windows offered good view of harbor and mountains, but faced a noisy street. Unfortunately, the beds were like sleeping on the floor and very squeaky. Between the hard, squeaky beds and noise from the street, we got very little sleep. Our bones and ears hurt. The positives -- it was clean and breakfast was good. This B & B would have been expensive at $50, but it was more than double that price.

Room Tip: Don't accept room 4 upstairs

This is a great B&B with excellent location and staff. The view from the porch is just unbelievable. Very clean and good selection of books in the library, cute rooms, clean washrooms, large sitting room.

I had heard about The Summer Inn from a friend who has stayed there many times. It was just what I expected – clean, cute, quiet and quaint. The Innkeeper was very friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable and cozy. The breakfasts were yummy, the price was right and I think I’ll be back next year! You can mingle as much or as little with other guests as you like in the comfortable and inviting common areas, or hole-up in your room for cozy, quiet time. An exceptional value.
