Views were breathtaking from our 4th floor room. Very quiet rooms with complimentary water and chocolate. Staff was very friendly and very attentive. Rooms are quiet. I would highly recommend. Some really cool pictures throughout the hotel lobby.

Room Tip: Order the King Crab Benedict for breakfast.

We had a mountain view room. This was by far the most beautiful view from a hotel room in my 54 years. Granted it was a very clear day and the mountain was out for two days. The hotel lobby, grounds, people could not be better. This was also the most expensive hotel I've ever stayed at. I'm glad I didn't go the cheap route. We did not eat at the hotel. Don't miss this place.

Rooms are small and dated. No thermostats to regulate heat. So so roof view. The restaurant was pedestrian, the service worse, and the prices at a level making you uncomfortable, What a wonderful state with such a strict corporate steward. Expects holiday in with triple pricing.

The Alyeska was nice but a bit disappointing. Only one restaurant was open so I didn't get to take advantage of any of those nicer restaurants others posted about. Also the rooms were average at best. The view was nice.

Room Tip: I had a valley view and it was nice

We stayed on the 8th floor. The room was awesome. The only disappointment was bathroom. The water never got hot and the door was hard to open. Everything was beautiful there. There wasn't much noise on the 8th floor being the top floor. Very spacious room. There were 5 of us and we all had plenty of room to stretch our legs.

I have been reading about this place for years and finally had a chance to stay on a recent business trip to AK. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed. I booked the place due to an email special and the price was great. It was in between "seasons" meaning the ski crowd had departed and the summer visitors hadn't started yet. The net result was that all the restaurants were closed except for one bar/grill. That restaurant was set up in a "temporary" location while the real bar/grill was being remodeled. I was in effect a "captive" since the town of Girdwood is not full of watering holes and great restaurants like Vail or Breckenridge. I was also not happy with the fact that there was no warning when I booked that the restaurants would all be closed and that the one bar/grill was undergoing renovation. I felt rather ripped off. To be fair, the pool and spa facility was very good. The views from the rooms were not outstanding however. You would have thought that it would be otherwise from the website photos but when you get there you will notice that the front of the building looks over a parking lot and the rear of the building does see the ski slope, but since it is close and "tall" it actually sort of blocks the view. A nice room with a comfortable bed sort of balances out the review as "average."

This is an expensive hotel -- but you get what you pay for. The rooms were comfortable with nice amenities. We only stayed one night, but were able to enjoy the pool and hot tub in the evening with no interruptions. My husband and I were there with my brother and sister in law and we all enjoyed ourselves terrifically. And none of us ski! We were there in April and enjoyed walking the grounds and seeing the lovely wildflowers bloom.

Room Tip: We were only there for a night so opted for the cheeper "no view room" and still had a nic...
