“Organic good food”

Nice healthy food. Unusual for traveling. Things like lentil soup and plain grilled cheese hit the spot. Unfortunately closes at 7, otherwise we would have eaten there more often.

“Yummy Soup and Cinnamon Roll”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

The Bake Shop is a quaint shop with beautiful begonias outside and yummy soups inside. We had the beef and barley soup with sour dough bread. I wondered why they don't use the sour dough buns for soup bowls. The cinnamon roll for dessert was scrumptious, and the serving is huge.

We were glad that the Salmon Berry Tours has this as a lunch stop on its tour. Appreciated that it didn't taste like it had the Aramark mark on it.

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2013

We went to the Bake shop one morning for breakfast and it was pretty underwhelming. First off the name is misleading since they dont have much for baked goods except giant cinnamon buns so you cant get muffins, bagels, scones etc at this place. Service was slow and not very friendly although the egg breakfast was of reasonable quality.

A great ham and cheese sandwich...place is incredibly bust,,,,,if you are in a rush, do not go there. If you are in a peaceful mind.....order your sandwich...watch the scenery and relax...also an awesome looking butternut squash soup available...not cheap, but would you expect it to be??

“Great little place”

Killer housemade soups and sammies, and or course the *cinnamon rolls* are to die for! Best lunch in Girdwood.
