Cajun, crowded and stylish. The special thing isnt the quality, its absolutly ok but not competing with gourmet temples in the town, it isnt the price .. its not a bargain, but ok .. its the atmosphere, liked by vistors and locals .. AND !! the portions are incredible .. even the appetizer (Nachos) are to much for a hungry hiker .. nearly all guests leave the restaurant with heavy boxes .. good if you expect to get a meal for next day microwave .. if you are not prepared, you leave half of your dinner on the table. We would appreciate offers for regular eaters :-) … like a lady steak.

Locals in Anchorage suggested we check out the Double Musky Inn while in Girdwood and warned us that there would most likely be a pretty long wait for a table at dinner time which was true, however our party of three was able to grab spots at the bar and enjoy a cocktail and the awesome Southern decor while we waited. The wait was completely worth it! The menu was phenomenal and the hardest part of our dining experience was deciding what to order. Our server was top notch. Knowledgable about the menu, had suggestions when we asked, prompt and so positive and professional! I had the shrimp etouffee which was the best I've ever tasted and I only wished I'd saved room for desserts which looked delicious!

Don't miss the Double Muskey !!
We had been told by friends who live in Palmer that the Double Musky was the best place for dinner in Alaska. Well, they were right. We enjoyed the scenic drive to the restaurant, had a few drinks while we waited for our table, and then were seated. Our waitress was great and the food was incredible !
Will be back !

Great food in a funky cabin with a long wait unless you choose to dine late as we did. Famous peppered steak feeds 2 easily. Go at 8 or 9pm and enjoy the summer sun. Right across from the Carriage House B&B - great place to stay.

this is our first visit to alyeska resort...since our arrival every shuttle and hotel employee will rave about the double musky and their pepper steak. they also mention how good the silver tip is and jack plat or the bake shop and chair 5...we spent a week at alyeska and tried all of the above. each restaurant was good for their own reasons, but the double musky was not...the double musky was the most talked about restaurant in girdwood. they will mention the amazing famous chef and awsome pepper steak....well what they dont mention is how the restaurant was amazingly good 20-30 years ago and has since been running off that reputation...the food was ok we had the steak and scallops stuffed mushrooms. the wait was about 45 min which they will seat you in the lounge so you may enjoy a cocktail and appetizer while you wait...this is great and we really enjoyed that part...the problems started as soon as we were seated for our dinner seevice. we received bread with a mosquito baked into it, we waited a long time to have our order taken...several tables sat down after us and received their food while we were still waiting. finally the food arrived, looked like the dishes weren't the cleanest but whatever we wanted to eat...vegetables with our steak looked very poor quality and tasted as such, steak was cooked right and had decent flavor but not as good as the reputation...scallops and mushrooms were ok...sitting in a pool of butter of course they tasted ok, who doesnt love butter, but quality and flavor I wld say very much comparable to olive garden...then we noticed the hair in our vegetables. we didnt bother to say anything we just ate the steaks and left...$38 entrees and $11 appetizers plus that reputation they seem to have...I would say this place needs chef Ramsey kitchen nightmares to come fix the problems.
