“Great Tour”
Reviewed June 13, 2014

We had a coupon from Northern Lights Coupon Book for BOGO. It was great! This was very close to Girdwood and Whittier. If you have extra time I would recommend this tour.

“Awesome views!”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

The entire time we were in town it was raining but we still enjoyed our trip. We visited portage glacier in late May. The drive down Seward Highway and Portage Rd. was beautiful. There were may trails and picture opportunities. The trails were well maintained. We took the one hour cruise on Portage Lake to the glacier which was perfect. The staff was very friendly. Our cruise was not packed and it was easy to move around inside and above on the deck for an outside view. The ride was very smooth without sea sickness. You get pretty close (about 500 feet) from the glacier face and the boat passes through ice bergs which is neat. We also took the 0.8 mile hike to Byron Glacier which was low intensity and well worth it.

“Gray Line Tour of Portage Glacier”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

We made a quick stop at the portage glacier on our way to Seward. The boat tour is about an hour. Compared other expensive boat rides, this one is cheaper and very informative. This one hour is very enjoyable as it includes the audio explanation about the formation of glacier, moraines, portage pass etc. The boat goes quite close to the glacier, ample opportunity to take beautiful pictures of the blue ice/icebergs. This one should not be missed !

“Easy trip”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

The portage glacier is an easy trip from the dock off of the main road. There is also a very nice visitors center to see.
