Interesting, funny, helpful guides drive the roads and trails giving history, culture, agriculture and some general politics of the island. Take the trip early in your stay. They pick you up and drop you off at your resort at the end. The tour included a fairly long story of the nonie berry and the juice. The guide facilitated cohesion in the group riding on the benches in the back of his Land Rover, teasing and supporting while seeing to safety. There were restroom breaks and also support for the elderly guest with mobility issues. The outdoor lunch was like a picnic with a full meal of traditional Cook Island food. The drive through the inner parts of the island with its spectacular views and history was the highlight for me.

I think that this tour is worth the money. The drivers are personable, funny and knowledgeable. You get to see a lot of the island and go up in the mountains to get some great views of The Needle. The only problem with the tour is the 45 minute speech you have to listen to about Australian politics and healthcare. If you can make it through that, the rest is worth it. Lunch is pretty tasty too!

We did the morning Jeep tour of the island. Had a stop at a local Noni juice producer. Stopped at the oldest ancient Marae worship site, learned about some of the history and culture of the Cook Islands people and drove through tropical crops and up one of the mountains for great views of the island, other mountains and ocean. The morning tour finished off with a tasty BBQ fish lunch eaten to the sound of live Polynesian music played by our driver guides. This was an enjoyable morning and tour of the island for our first time visit.

The activities you can do on Rarotonga are quite limited and I thought that Pa's trek, the safari mountain tour and the quad biking would all just be different methods of seeing the same thing but they are all completely different!!

This is fantastic and fun for all ages and our driver was a tonne of fun. You get taken to a number of places of cultural significance on the island and the guide talks you through a lot of the history etc which you would otherwise miss if you just drove around mindlessly. They are really awesome people and i do recommend this we had a blast. BBQ lunch at the end is delicious!
