“Disappointing”
Reviewed July 14, 2012

very sad to say we where GUTTED at this place--------we drove past daily and saw the lovely colourful banners waving near the roadside, and the blackboard sign out saying....."Best cheesecake in the world"==so we met up with travelling friends and off we set ready to taste the best!.
Went up to the nearby walking track and payed our $4 per person money into the honesty box and away we went---lovely place and was nicely kept gardens -but the only person we saw was a gardener,
NO labels or signs to say what plant is what
NO cafe
NO cheesecake
NOthing mush - but a quick 10 min walk and felt abit ripped off really.

“Could be so much more”
Reviewed June 24, 2012

These gardens have huge potential and are really beautiful. Some simple plant labels would make this an awesome experience. The cafe is closed and looks like it might be that way unless a new owner or manager is found. A beautiful peaceful spot.

“Good way to spend a lazy afternoon”
Reviewed June 10, 2012

As the title says really! Had a spare couple of hours one afternoon, so thought I would check the gardens out. Different to the gardens that we are used to in NZ - which is great, means that it's not just another run of the mill gardens. If you enjoy taking photos of plants & flowers, you will easily lose yourself for a couple of hours. Lots of native plants & flowers. There is also a cafe on site, which was closed when I went, so cannot comment on this aspect unfortunately! $4 donation to the honesty box out the front - a nice wee touch :) (can't remember the last time I saw an honesty box around)

“You must visit!”
Reviewed June 2, 2012

The garden here is really pretty and it's just a nice place to stroll through. You'll get lots of nice pictures here! We biked here and walked through the gardens. What a lovely day!

The most surprising thing about this place is the food. During our one-week stay on the island, we came here twice and probably would've visited more if there weren't other places we wanted to go. Everything here was so good and so fresh. If I remember correctly, they get their ingredients from the garden. My favorite was the tea and I still think about it a year and half later!
