“Best fish sandwiches”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

The staff here make the best fish sandwiches on the island. The fresh mahimahi sandwiches are the best (caught daily). We had to keep coming back for lunch everyday, and really good price (I think $8 or $10). They have other options (chicken, pan fried tuna, BLT etc) but these were my favourite. There are also good views out to the lagoon with casual type seating.

“Mahi-mahi dreams”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

To be back home and thinking about the FOB (Fresh off the Boat) Mahi-Mahi sandwiches is torture. Guess it just gives us another reason to return to the Cook Islands. Don't leave without trying a FOB washed down with a fruit smoothie!

“The recommendtaions were right!”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

This was a must stop for lunch after reading the reviews on trip advisor and we were not dissappointed. The mahimahi sandwhich was so fresh and tasty and the customer service was awesome. Beautiful spot with tasty fresh food at a good price, and the Cooks wonderful hospitality to top it off. Fabulous!

“Disappointing After Positive Trip Advisor Reviews”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

After a spectacular swim at Muri Beach we walked down to try The Mooring after reading it was number one on Trip Advisor.
There are two main options for fresh off boat options - fish sandwich on turkish bread for $12 NZD or $17.50 NZD for fish and salad (they don't serve chips). We chose one of each and were disappointed with the small pieces of fish (rather than one large piece) and also the use of old oil and heavy crumb.
We questioned whether it was fresh off board as advertised as we couldn't taste the freshness of the fish.

“Fantastic! Best food on Rarotonga!”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

This place has it all, the view, the location but best of all the food! YUM! The fresh off the boat (FOB), Mahi-Mahi and Wahoo were incredible! The smoothie is the best I've tasted and the milkshakes were also great. We went back lots, even now we are home we are still craving this quick, tasty, fresh and reasonably priced food! YUM YUM YUM! (Just remember to take some cash with you - no cc's)
