This was my first time fly fishing and Mike was an excellent teacher. I watched other guides talk down to the people they were teaching. Mike doesn't do that. He is patient and puts a lot of effort into making sure you have the technique down.

What an outstanding experience. Had no idea what to expect and we've never fly fished before. We were catching sockeye salmon within 5 minutes of leaving shore. There are no promises in fishing, but Mike is a very good teacher, and he seems to know just where the fish hide out! The arrangements were exceptionally easy to make. Life jackets and hip boots were provided. We had gorgeous weather but the boat is open to the elements. Bring your rain gear. Mike is the consummate professional on the river. He knows the Kenai like i know my front sidewalk. Very impressed with his respect for the river and treatment of the fish, and there were really good stories as we floated along casting and fly fishing. From the water we were able to see Bald Eagles, and other wild life. Mostly we were too busy catching fish to look for bears. One of the nicest afternoons we had in Alaska.
