Description: The historic Gwin's Lodge is located in Cooper Landing in the Kenai Peninsula in south central Alaska, which is known as "Alaska's playground." We are the closest lodging near the confluence of two world-class salmon streams - the Kenai River and the Russian River. Gwin's Lodge is open seven days a week serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and has 17 cabins that can each accommodate 4 to to 6 guests with two cottage houses that can each accommodate up to 12 guests.

We had several good meals on our Alaska trip, and this was one. The chili was very good, and the pie even better. My friend had halibut and loved it—she also really liked the fries. Nothing fancy but hearty and good, and the atmosphere is fun—relaxed, warm, cheery. It was exactly what we needed after a long rain-drenched drive to reach Cooper Landing.

Shared a piece of carrot cake with my wife after a great meal. Had to go back the next night for a second piece. This time we each got our own so we didn't have to share one.

Satisfaction is guaranteed. Let us know then when we can make it right. Sorry about the issues. We do run out of items particularly late in the season when we keep our stock low. We also get shorted on orders. We put in an order and you don't know that they don't have it till they show up on delivery day without it. Let us know when it is not correct right away vs keeping it to yourself then going online when it is too late. We will be open till 10/31/16. Cabins till 10/24/16 then the cabins are dry cabins after that (no water or bathrooms).

IT's the 'real Alaska' experience... to come off the river and go have a great bowl of homemade chili or salmon chowder, in an authentic lodge that has been there for years, is the best! This place has been there and been great for years, before any others cam along, its always had a cozy family feel and a place where you can just really relax.

Coopers Landing does not have a lot of places that open early so I decided to try Gwin's Lodge. The restaurant is a very cool log building that has been serving guests for decades. I have breakfast twice, and both times it was very good. Nothing too unusual, but all well prepared. Very nice waitress, Amelia was very pleasant.
