We took the advice of others and booked Villa 2 right on the beach with a small loft above with 2 single beds for kids or close friends. The beach WAS swimmable on all tides and the marine life was attractive and close to shore. Vaa (our host) set the welcoming tone right from the outset and nothing was too much trouble. It was a clean and well- organised villa with a large fridge for the beer and sunset cocktails. If all holidays could be so relaxing, everyone would be here. And, unlike Rarotonga, this island is free of dogs which for some, like me, was much appreciated. Put extra mosquito repellent in you luggage as they also like this part of the world!

Room Tip: Villa 2 has a loft and is absolute beachfront.

My husband and 4YO daughter stayed at Villa #4 for a week and cannot recall having such a relaxing time in the past. My daughter loved her own room 'upstairs' and my husband and I enjoyed reading on verandah.
The villa is perfectly positioned on the safest and most breathtaking strip of beach in Aitutaki and we spent most of our holidays taking in its beauty and playing with the wildlife - fishs, crabs, chickens!!
The villa was clean and self contained so we cooked and ate on at the waters edge watching the sun set - million dollar views for next to nothing.
Our remarkable memories was enabled by our charming host Va'a who was very generous with his time to show us around the island and introduce us to general stores and other facilities. He also booked us on an amazing tour of the islands which had 'once in a lifetime' ocean views and snorkelling - our eyes were drunk from the colours of the ocean and the activity beneath it!
We spent some time at the luxury hotel 400 meters away (as friends were staying there) but our daughter kept wanting to come back and swim in Va'a's fish tank!! . . which is testament to location of the villas and Va'a's hospitality.
My tip is to never underestimate the mosquitos and always wear repellent and ensure you have reef shoes to freely enjoy the beach.
We will return to the beach villa for sure!
Thanks Va'a
Andy, Karen & Jamison

Room Tip: We had an amazing view from the villa furtherest away from the beach so I can recommend any of the 4 villas.

We recently stayed 5 nights at the Aitutaki Beach Villa. We stayed in bungalow number 4. This bungalow is cheaper as it is not at the beachfront, but we were very happy with it - it is only about 30 meters away from the beach, set amongst a nice garden, and still has the beautiful view of the lagoon. We found the bungalow to be modern, spacious, and really clean. I think the beauty of bungalow number 4 is that we were able to see more of the beautiful garden as we very much enjoyed seeing the chooks around (they loved eating bread from us too). There was a bowl of fresh fruits in the kitchen when we arrived, filled with bananas, coconuts, passion fruits, paw paws and star fruits - it was very much appreciated. There is a small CD player in the kitchen so we could play the Island music CDs we bought in Rarotonga. All windows and doors are screened to stop mosquitos from getting in. The room was also cleaned every few days. There is wifi connection available on this property, you just have to purchase credit from Cook Islands Telecom company. You can purchase it with your credit card once connected, this is indeed very handy.

The view of the lagoon out in front of Aitutaki Beach Villa is just breathtakingly beautiful. The water is so beautifully blue, it’s so brightly coloured and fluorescent it actually hurts the eyes a little if you keep staring at the water – that is how beautiful it is. On the first few days of our stay, the water was so calm and still, even when it was windy, there was absolutely no current in the water. Unfortunately during our stay, the weather had not been the best (strong gale during our stay and a mini cyclone ‘Mike’ that went pass Aitutaki for a couple of hours), so we missed out on the lagoon cruise.

The best part about staying at the Aitutaki Beach Villa is that, although there is no reception and telephone line inside the bungalow, you can be sure to be well looked after by the host Vaa. On the first day of arrival, Vaa was the first person who was right there ‘inside’ the airport ground to greet us with flower lei. He really spent time to give us a tour around the island, and took us to buy grocery/food items that we needed. Nothing seemed to be too much of a trouble for him. Vaa is just so genuinely warm, kind, respectful and helpful. He would check back on the villa a couple of times a day just to make sure everything is fine. Vaa can also organise everything from tours to vehicle rentals, he was always there to help.

My advice for future guests is that to bring as much of what you need as you can (eg dry food/longlife food) as any food items or supplies are expensive and scarce on Aitutaki. Don’t forget to bring lots of movies to watch at night or on the days when the weather is not so good. Do the lagoon cruise as soon as you arrive as the weather can change very quickly. I recommend booking the cruises through Vaa.

If we ever come back to Aitutaki again, we will not hesitate to choose to stay here again. Dear Vaa & Jolene, thank you again for your kind hospitality. It was a pleasure to have met you. We hope we will meet again one day. Kind regards, Ali & Clem

We stayed at the aitutaki beach villas for 2 weeks and we didn't want to leave. We chosen this place 'cos it's very private. The moment we arrived we knew that we've chosen the right place. Lovely villas, a large kitchen with all the cooking facilities, we also loved to cook, a huge fridge with a well stocked minibar that we loved. It's got everything that we need. We stayed in villa 4 and could see the beautiful emerald water and the white sandy beach from our terrace. What an amazing breathtaking view! Yeah, We were just blown away with the clear blue water with millions of colourful fish. My partner is a keen fisherman and couldn't wait to go fishing. The bbq was provided which was a lovely gesture and made use of it to cook our fish. To top that, watched the sunset drinking wine on the beach.
We just had an amazing time there, a great spot for snorkeling, very relaxing, great host.
Thank you Vaa for the memorable holiday! We'll be back.
