We visited Samade a few times for a drink to enjoy the incredible view. The staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, we only had one meal here during our trip although if we had more time we would have surely visited again. We made a point to try their Sunday BBQ. It was a huge plate of various local dishes and everything was delicious. We rented a kayak from them to explore the lagoon for an afternoon which made for a great day.

We were fortunate to be staying at Samade and had a number of meals there - we enjoyed them all! Island Night was particularly memorable. Sunday's barbecue is highly recommended - curried chicken, grilled mahi mahi and delicious salad and fruit - enough for two! The location, just a few metres from the waters edge means you may have little crabs scuttling around your feet - atmosphere plus. And, the staff ... So warm and friendly. Highly recommended.

We tried couple of others Aitutaki restaurants (dinners only as we did not have lunch meals) which were highly recommended in the Trip Advisor, like Café Tupuna and Boat Shed. Our experience was mostly ok but nothing special.

But here in the Samade (where we also stayed) was excellent. Chef at the Samade is an ace!

The menu is not very diverse, three starters and mains for every night, slightly varying every night and totaling maybe about eight - ten starters and main courses for a week. However, whatever we ordered, any of us because we all shared and tried everything, it was really very good. The most importantly, it was delicious. Secondly, it's totally fresh and we saw a shell even budge a bit on a plate. Thirdly, the food was always presented beautifully, and arrived without delay, even when all the tables were occupied. Last not the least, the waitressing staff smiled and was friendly to engage in a talk, not like in some other places. Many times we’ve given to the chef our direct compliments for successful dishes and he was very proud of that.

Even on the extra busy nights (with weekly Polynesian dance show) the chef was willing and managed to accommodate for one of our friend’s particular desires and slightly vary the dishes from the menu!

Should we have opportunity to return to Aitutaki and the chef is still the same, Samade restaurant would be our only choice for dinner.

We stayed not far and this became our local for 5 nights - no need to go anywhere else as something different happening every night. We didn't go to the show but will next time as we could hear it from our house and it sounded amazing, great drums!
Staff are gorgeous and so happy to help - thanks for the Samade Hit, still my favourite drink whilst watching the sun go down. We still like our pina coladas though xx
Oh and thanks for the mean curries!
