We originally booked into the beach front bungalows for a week, however, there was a problem with our booking, and we were required to change dates and flights. Not a big issue. We ended up in one of the over water bungalows. Firstly, pictures do not do these bungalows justice!
The staff were outstanding, friendly and nothing was an issue. Freda, who was working in the section where you picked up your snorkelling equipment, paddle boards, kayaks etc is definitely worth a mention - always a smile, and so very helpful.
My partner said that this was definitely a bucket list addition.
We will be going back!

Kia Orana Craig O,

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, we really appreciate this.

We are happy to read that despite problems with your bookings you were able to have a great holiday and that you enjoyed our Overwater Bungalows.

The Overwater Bungalows feature pandanus-lined walls, private open-air shower, spacious bathroom with double vanity, and direct access to the lagoon which make it very popular choice for our guests.

I am glad to hear that you took advantage of the many activities on offer and that our staff were outstanding. I will certainly pass on your comments to our team.

Once again thank you for your feedback and we look forward to welcoming you back to our little slice of paradise.

Kia Manuia & Kind Regards

You take a ferry - 30 seconds, from one side of the river/inlet, to the other. Welcome was quite strange. As we were not staying at the resort, we were given a list of 30 things we couldn't do. Can't walk off the path. Can't go in the water. Can't look around. Once you got by the Storm Troopers at the front desk, it was wonderful. Good restaurant, both service and food. Servers were very friendly. Resort looked very nice, and the view, over the lagoon, was fantastic. We walked out about 1/2 mile, on the sand bar, and we were still knee deep in water.
Everything but the front desk personnel was great. They should be replaced immediately

We stayed in a premium beachfront room, which was large and well kept. There is a deck at the front, which extends onto prime beachfront. Each room has two banana lounges on the beach and a hammock. At the rear of the room is a large bathroom and outdoor shower.

Although there were plenty of people staying at the resort, there never seemed to be many people around, so the beach really felt like a private beach. The view from the rooms is sublime - right up there with Isle of Pines, Tahiti. You can lie in bed in the morning and take in the best view of the lagoon.

The lagoon is warm and safe to swim in, or alternatively there is the pool. Make sure you check out the beach on the western end of the island, just beyond the wedding/function hut. The sand is so soft and smooth.

The staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome, especially our 4yo daughter who loved the resort. The food was also of a very high quality, especially the dinners. Having a drink or dinner at the Flying Boat Bar was something quite special. You can relax, feed the fish, and take in the view and always amazing sunset.

We took the opportunity to hire one of the cars available at the hotel and drive around the island. Of the resorts on Aitutaki, this is definitely the best in terms of location and view. It certainly is very special.

Thank you for taking the time to upload a review on your recent stay with us at The Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa.

I am happy that you enjoyed your Premium Beachfront Bungalow directly located facing the beach with magnificent views over Aitutaki Lagoon. Under the cool shade of coconut palms, the Premium Beachfront Bungalows feature an uninterrupted view out towards the spectacular lagoon vista and outdoor showers.
You are right in saying that even with a lot of people staying it is generally quiet. Our private island location offers the serenity and quiet atmosphere preferred by a lot of our guests.

Once again, it is pleasing to read that you found the staff lovely and welcoming. I can assure you that they are vey happy to help in any way possible to make your stay comfortable with us.

Thank you again for your feedback, we hope to see you back in the future.

4 days here and we were very relaxed and chilled :-) if you want to totally unwind and take a breath this is exactly what is on offer a must to do for your bucket list .... the most amazing crystal clear water I have ever seen . Snorkelling and swimming in the lagoon was really nice and as we were in an overwater bungalow it was on hand whenever we felt the urge to get wet .... Sunblock is a must as the sun is very strong in aitutaki

On our first trip to Aitutaki we stayed at the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort @Spa in March 2012 and would be very happy to recommend this wonderful holiday destination.Situated on it's own private motu the resort is reached by a complimentary ferry transfer from the mainland, only 5 mins away. The Resort offers, in our opinion, the very best views of the Aitutaki Lagoon and its position assures yours privacy and exclusive vista only available to Resort guests. It was a priviledge to stay there...........and we long to return. They have two Restaurants to choose from but unfortuneately,we thought the food was little disappointing and found ourselves leaving the Resort for most of our meals. However, the complimentary breakfast was quite nice with a large selection to choose from and we could not fault the customer service or room cleanliness. While the motu is quite small,we walked around it easily in 15mins,there a many private areas scattered around the island where you could find peace, serenity and privacy in your own slice of heaven. We would definitely return.............for the view alone!

Room Tip: Bungalows on the mainland side get a little hot in the afternoon, but the airconditioners take care o...

Kia Orana KarenFayeSmith,

Thank you very much for your review.

We are glad that you found our private island resort a wonderful holiday destination. The resort is indeed blessed with stunning views of the breathtaking views of the Aitutaki Lagoon.

I am a little discouraged to read that you did not find your dining experiences at the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa satisfactory. We pride ourselves on offering our guests an extensive selection of meals utilising fresh local produce from the island of Aitutaki and many, many guests have complimented the meals they have enjoyed during their stays with us. In saying this, we appreciate your feedback and we are currently taking steps to improve on our menus to ensure that the diverse range of tastes and preferences of our guests dining needs are met.

We are happy to read that you would consider returning and we look forward to welcoming you back to our little slice of paradise.

Kind Regards & Kia Manuia

this hotel has by far the best location in aitutaki right on the lagoon, one of the most magnificent in the south pacific, it provides direct access via kayak to beautiful secluded beaches on nearby motus. Unbeatable. it is therefore a pity that it lacks on so many essentials, especially given the rates charged. we stayed in a premium beachfront and wondered if the less expensive beachfront sitting on the channel side would have not been a better choice: the lagoon view was good but there is hardly any privacy with all rooms in this category arranged around a vast "plaza" essentially crossed by resorts guests at all times. this also made the room terrace quite uninviting. inside the open air shower is a nice touch. room is spacious and bright. overall the resort feels a bit tired and ill designed. breakfast is taken in a vast open air pavilion without view. at the sand bar edge, the island is dotted with bulky, ininviting and regularly empty bamboo beach cabanas. a couple of puzzling episodes: having been scratched by corals I asked for alcohol or a simple antiseptic. they did not have ANY and suggested i took a trip to the hospital on the oher side of the island! we also asked for a power adaptor and they did not have any nor provided any help to find one leading us to believe there were none on the island. we found them for sale in the tiny village. we never ate at the resort preferring to explore the nearby Boatshed (average food fun atmophere), Samade on the beach (simple but excellent), or the farther away Pacific Resort ( more formal but worth trying), Tupuna ( hard to find but worth the trip) and Tamanu (lively bbq once a week)

Room Tip: the beachfront farther away from the boat dock may be better than premium beachfront

Thank you for your review.

We are glad to read that you found our location magnificent. “No artists’ palette could ever conceive of a more perfect, more luminescent turquoise than that of the lagoon of Aitutaki, arguably the most beautiful in the world.” So wrote Steve Davey in his book Unforgettable Places to See Before You Die (BBC Books).

Our premium beachfront bungalows are afforded with excellent views of the magnificent lagoon which is tremendously enjoyed by many of our guests. All beachfront bungalows feature solid local timber vanities with outdoor showers with locally inspired interior.

I do apologise that our team was not forthcoming in providing you with antiseptic cream when you were scratched with coral. The advice to attend to the hospital is precautionary to ensure that you do not have any reaction to the coral.

We do have adapters available in our gift shop for purchase however as you required a transformer, we do apologise that we did not have this available for you to use or purchase.

Once again thank you for your review, we appreciate the feedback in order to improve.

Kind Regards & Kia Manuia
