Owner description: The ‘must do’ day lagoon cruise aboard the 21 meter Polynesian style Vaka Titi ai Tonga. Every morning at 10am Mondays to Saturdays, the sound of the conch shell signals the departure of the Vaka for six hours of lagoon magic. There’s snorkelling, swimming and sunbathing to do before tucking into to an island barbecued lunch of fresh caught ocean fish served on board and accompanied by a full bar service. Visit several motu (small islets) and beach comb at One Foot Island before returning past the old TEAL flying boat base. Impromptu entertainment by the crew will have you tying pareu, weaving coconut leaf plates or humming island tunes. Tour includes pickup from your accommodation on Aitutaki. Resorts adn Hotels on O'otu Peninsula are within easy walking distance from the departure point and the Vaka docks directly at the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort and Spa to pick up guests from there. We look forward to take you to the magic that is Aitutaki's lagoon.

We had a great day out on the water, with the sun shining and the stunning crystal clear waters of the Aitutaki lagoon, the snorkeling was brilliant with great underwater visibility and plenty of fish to see. The lunch provided was delicious and plentiful and the crew were entertaining. It was a very relaxing cruise.

We took this tour after comparing it with the other companies on offer and getting local feedback that all tour went to the same places.

the sevice interpretation and where we went were all excellent. The fact that we stoppped on a small island for the skipper to drop off his granddaugther to a family camping weekend demonstrated that it was a family business with local contacts. we got lots of snorkeling and time to relax on the vaka. Plenty of time for a walk around one foot island and good stories about how the name came about.

On the way home we had a very entertaining floor show including husking coconuts, 365 ways to visit a sarong and entertainment by passengers.

Great stuff

We did this Vaka Cruise as part of the day tour from Rarotonga, and although the flight over to Aitutaki on Air Rarotonga was great and the Safari from the airport to the departing of the cruise was great too the cruise was the best part by far. The boat is nice and large so if you are are prone to sea sickness like me you will be fine. The cruise stops at three islands and depending on the conditions will depend on which island you do the snorkeling. The crew are fantastic and our guide Jay was just the best. For our cruise the snorkeling was done on the first stop and the BBQ lunch was at the second island. The lunch was by far the best lunch on a tour I have ever had!!!. The last stop is at One Foot Island where you have plenty of time to explore the island. With picture postcard scenery, great food, and friendly people what else could you ask for!!! This cruise can also be done just as a cruise if you are already on Aitutaki. Highly recommended!!!!
