We were picked up from our accommodation and taken to the little speed boat where we were to spend the day (not really what we had thought - bit more primitive then thought). We, along with 8 others joined the skipper on the little speed boat. We stationed ourselves in front of the skipper on a seat at the front of the boat. Our trip began and the weather was less than perfect. So we were soaked and cold even before we got to our first destination. The wind and the rain just drenched us all, but that was part of the adventure. We stopped out in the middle of the lagoon and swam close to the boat, saw so many multicoloured fish. The skipper had some bread so we used that to lure the fish, it was amazing. Saw the biggest fish I have ever seen (and I am an ex scuba diver) which was truly amazing. Then we went to another site in the middle of the lagoon where we saw all kinds of clams, "brain" coral and all kinds of fish. We were then taken to another site (out in the middle of the lagoon) where there is purple coral (which you can see from the boat) but the current was too strong and not safe to swim in so we couldn't leave the boat. We stopped off on Honeymoon Is and had lunch on another island (name?). Lunch was amazing with beautiful salads and BBQ. The only downside, beers were handed out at lunch (one each) and then at the end of the day we were asked to pay for the beer (which we didn't ask for). That left a bad taste at the end of the day. We also went to One Foot Is where we stayed for 1.5 hours where we walked around the island and swam (more fish). REmember to take your reef shoes on the day, as it will help to walk around on the day as there is quite a bit of coral around. We left One Foot Is at 3pm and taken back to the s/w side of the island where the van was waiting for us to take us back to our accommodation. In comparison with the other bigger lagoon cruises, this one is for the adventurous and who want to get a taste of what its like off the tourist trail. Its fantastic. If you want a bigger boat, with onboard entertainment (music) you won't like this but if you want raw, off the tourist trail lagoon cruise with on board entertainment in the form of "sick jokes" by the skipper and the other people on the cruise. It was so much fun and would highly recommend this cruise!

This day was so much fun, that if we'd had time during our visit, we'd have repeated it again in a heart-beat. Captain Teking (the King indeed!) has a terrific sense of humour (especially if you don't take yourself too seriously!), and expert knowledge of the Aitutaki Lagoon. In addition to 3 amazing and varied snorkelling spots, we also got to visit the amazing stretch of beach at Honeymoon Island, have a delightfully simple yet amazingly scrumptious lunch on Maina, and then visit One Foot Island for photos, relaxing, and getting our passports stamped at the world's smallest operating post-office.

An awesome day with the boys from Teking. A load of laughs a great lunch and 3 fantastic snorkel spots. Lots of information about the local legends and history. I could do this trip again and again just for the lunch. A highlight this time the wife was a turtle for the first time.

My wife and I did a lagoon cruise with Teking and it was a highlight of our time on Aitutaki. Teking is a great guide, he is very informative and funny, and knows all the best spots to go. It was the best snorkelling I have done in my life and the lunch was so yummy as well. I couldn't recommend this trip highly enough for anyone visiting Aitutaki.

Wow what a wonderful day! We were boated to wonderful snorkelling spots with many colourful fish, clams, attractive coral reefs and even giant trevally. Imagine swimming close to these huge fish! Our host was entertaining and expertly guided us through the coral outcrops to deserted islands. We walked, swam, ate a great barbecue lunch and generally had a ball.
