“Simply Magical”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

I simply get it now that the stars like Tom Cruise love this resort because it is just paradise of pure serenity. This is pure away from it all and just like heaven here. The grounds are beautiful and so much to explore snorkeling here righ off your bungalow. The food here will keep me happy forever. The staff are always happy and accommodating. I thought at first that 3 nights here might be too long in such a secluded resort but when you get here you will know why it's heaven. Thank you Geri Miller at Tahiti Discount Travel in Newport Beach, CA, you were right about this place. Our itinerary was perfect.

Room Tip: Must be in the beautiful overwater bungalow!!

This is where we started our honeymoon before going to rangiroa and nothing pales in comparrison to this place. Complete paradise! One week here was not enough! Dont break your trip up into 2 places like us, with the option to do it over I would have rather stayed here for 2 weeks! We ate some amazingly delishious foods. Kayaked around, did lots of snorkeling. The place was super quite and exclusive. All of the staff were extremely nice and friendly. The milky way dinner experience and the breakfast that comes to you via boat (forgot what they cleverly named it) was delishious and just beautiful. I could go on and on about how great this place is. If you have the chance to stay here, do it! You will not have any regrets!

Room Tip: Stay in one of the over water bungalows! You get to feed the fish from the foot of your bed!

Tahaa was our first stop in the French Polynesia and it was everything we could want and more. We are so thankful to Claudia at Pacific for Less for suggesting it!

This private motu was our idea of heaven. Small, quaint and a fabulous way to completely unwind. The Coral Garden is right off the beach by the pool with great snorkeling. We also enjoyed using the hotels paddle boards to see around the property. Never crowded and everyone was beyond nice.

I would also suggest renting a buggy on the main island. We loved spending the day driving around exploring. The lady we rented from (thru the hotel) gave us a private tour of her vanilla plantation and family land. She was so informative and better than any excursion we could have went on.

To sum it up, if you're looking for an amazing place to just relax and enjoy nature, Tahaa and it's people, this is the place for you!

Room Tip: We enjoyed staying in overwater suite #17, amazing sunrises and view of Tahaa. Pictures on website...

To describe this Tahitian island as paradise is possibly an understatement. It was one of two islands we stayed at on our honeymoon, and honestly, we had to pinch ourselves everyday waking up to such an incredible view. It was so quiet, and though there were other guests around, it did feel like a very private trip. The staff were so friendly, and we really enjoyed relaxing around the pool, feeling like we could completely relax, having food and drink brought to us. The spa was a real experience - we tried a honeymoon spa experience, and it was fantastic. We would love to go back one day, maybe for an anniversary down the line, as this really was a magical place to stay.

We spent six days on this private motu off of Tahaa this past November and thought every moment was one of a kind. This was the completion of our Twentieth Anniversary Trip and we had saved the best for last. Decided that Le Tahaa was a better choice for us that a property on Bora Bora (now one is splitting hairs), but this is most exclusive.

Had a "sunset view" OWB as requested and met our expectations. Expectations were raised by staying at the Moorea Hilton (just great, but not as exclusive) for five days prior to coming to Le Tahaa, and this property goes from a five to a six.

All service was very good, but the dining service (breakfast and dinner), at times was just a bit spotty and deserves some polish. Menu choices could be a bit more varied. There was a special buffet during the Annual Boat Races and that was wonderful in preparation and choices. The Polynesian Show is not to be missed if you are there during the special time in November.

Room Tip: Take a kayak to the west side of the motu, where it was less windy, calmer water and a great view of...

With so many reviews, I won't repeat them all. We stayed in 45 sunset view overwater. Based on what we could tell all the OW are similar but the sun set directly in the middle of our patio. It was so breathtakingly beautiful. I would recommend sunset view. We were mid pontoon and it was very private and just gorgeous. We met some great people while staying there and really enjoyed being able to meet people as well as having time to ourselves.

To know before you go: it's a very authentic type hotel. They employ mostly locals from Taha'a which is also very local. That means this isn't a tourist trap so tours will be small and you'll really get to see the culture. That also means this isn't the USA. Language can be an issue so be patient. The staff is very helpful and friendly but English is the 3rd or 4th language. You are on an island, a speck of sand in the ocean really. They run out of things but generally get them the next day. Service is friendly and warm but it's not clinical like Four Seasons. One day you will get shower gel, the next day you won't. One day they have Coke Light the next day Coke Zero. It's never really an issue but its just not what we are used to in the US.

The food: a lot of people talked about the food. The breakfast was great. Same buffet each day but cooked to order eggs and the omelette was amazing. Lunch is really good. Lots of choices and everything was tasty. The poisson Cru was so good and portions are large. Service as great and Brenda was awesome! You can share they are that big. Dinner was disappointing all 3 times went to the restaurant. The pork was terrible and we heard the duck was also cooked wrong. I expect slow service but we had to ask for a drink 3x's and the check took so long we went to the front and still waited 30 mins. This was after a 1.5 hour dinner that was only 2 courses. We decided to do room service after that. So worth it. It's approx $10 for delivery and a limited menu but so worth it to eat watching the ocean. Note that it takes about an hour after you order so plan for that. Food is hot just slow. Call at 6 for 7 etc. Also note room service starts at 7 am and ends at 9:30 pm. Certain times of the day only room service is available. Ie lunch ends at 3 and dinner starts at 7 in the restaurants but you can get room service during that time. Another note is minbar is empty and you call to order for it but the delivery charge is waived. We did the Milky Way dinner and it was truly special. It has it's own menu and its exceptional.

We did the Vanilla tour with Fredo and it was amazing. My husband dove with Michel and enjoyed it.

I really loved the resort and its quirks. It wasn't clinical like most chains where you could be anywhere. It's was a very Tahitian experience. The water is warm and shallow, you can walk for what seems like forever. The rooms are great with amazing views and very secluded. It felt like home. I would return would only hope they improve the dinner menu and dinner service as it was a miss compared to everything else and the guests we met all commented to the same.

We stayed here for only 2 nights and we starting kicking ourselves for not booking a longer stay! We had an end of the pontoon bungalow and we loved, loved, loved it!! It's a very secluded resort on the motu, nothing else around. Rooms were very well furnished with little touches through out that made it special. Lovely sea breezes and just a joy all around. Food was good, lovely breakfast buffet every morning, nice spa facilities. The nicest thing about this place is the way it seems to meld with it's surroundings. Service was top notch, lot's of personal attention and helpful insights. Would skip Moorea and go straight here if we come back again.
