I know, I know... when going to FP, go to Tahiti, then Moorea, then Bora-Bora... we did it a little backwards... went to Bora-Bora, then Moorea... we knew that Moorea could not compare to Bora-Bora.. but even still, there were some things we were disappointed by.
Hotel itself is decent.. each room is either a detached or a semidetached bungalow. this was great for privacy, and just the experience of having your own "home". It has a small lobby, and also has a very small footprint as far as the property line is concerned.
We loved the restaurant over the water, where you could sit and see the black tipped sharks in the evening. Amazing experience.
We did not love the 4am wake up calls from the roosters and chickens... every morning. Knowing that the island has such a large population of native chickens and roosters.. they should really do some sound proofing of the accommodations. I typically wake up early, but this was beyond what i wanted on a laid back vacation in paradise.
next time, i would spend 10 days in Bora-Bora.. instead of doing 5 at Bora-Bora, and 5 in Moorea.
the excursions we took, etc. did make the days in Moorea worth while, overall.More
