“Great Setting for the Course but Problems with Welcome”
Reviewed January 26, 2014

Took a friend here to possibly play if the price wasn't outrageous. No one on the course that day and the price was too expensive for him. The views looked to be gorgeous, but the club house felt as if they were closing down (e.g., low inventory; poor selection, etc.). Word on the street is that a Canadian is trying (or has tried) to put up a fancy resort as part of the package, but the financing didn't come through and the golf course itself can't support the relatively low number of players. Locals are extended some specials. Various hotels have their own deals that might be attractive. Only one on the island, so you could brag to your friends that you played here.

“Some nice views but not that special”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

Overall this golf course had some holes with really nice views but the course seemed in disrepair. I would not pay the money to play again. The rental clubs were poorly taken care of and the pro shop did not even have gloves to buy. It might have been a better experience if the pro shop or people running the course seemed to care a little more about the course.

“Expected more from Nicklaus-designed course”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

I would have to rate the course below average for playability: fairways were ok, but the greens were very slow and inconsistent; the views, especially on #7 and most of the back nine, were above average, but it played more like your average public course. I would recommend bringing your own clubs, if you play. This is the first time that I have rented clubs that were worse than the set I had two cycles ago. It was mixture of graphite and steel shafts with regular flex, senior flex and some stiff. Needless to say, I played with fewer than the 14 clubs that I am used to. No shoes.

I would not play this course again.

“Enjoyable Round”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

I played Moorea Green Pearl in July 2013 and found the course to offer wonderful views of both the mountains and ocean. The course itself is in so-so condition, but the setting around you is truly amazing that you will forget you are even playing golf.

You can book your tee times via Facebook, shuttle from hotel and ask any questions that you may have, communication was a piece of cake. I recommend bringing your own glove, balls, tees, etc. They have rental sets, with a variety of brands.

The back 9 is tougher than the front as the mountain can really reek havoc on your lies, bounces and angles off the tee's and into the greens. I'm a 5 handicap and found the course to be a fair test.

Bring your wife, even if she doesn't play. She'll thank you after the round, mine did. The views are that good.

Hurry and get there, course is struggling financially and may not survive.

“Hit the ball straight.”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

My wife and I had a great time playing at this very scenic course. We hired a motorised golf buggy otherwise it would be very, very tiring to play the course. The greens are inconsistent and the rough is very unforgiving. If you don't land the ball on the fairway, don't bother looking for your ball in the rough.
We really enjoyed our day but I am not sure what a serious golfer would say.
