“Good food and friendly staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2013

We were looking for a place for lunch at 2pm, but most of the restaurants were already closed. We stopped by Le Martinez by chance, the owner was closing but accepted to have us. We enjoyed the fish, very good chaud froid. Dishes are well presented, prices are average for a restaurant, and the owner brings his happiness with every dish.

“Little gem hidden away”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

We visited Le Martinez in May, while on holidays in Moorea. We found it in our guide, call them and arranged pick up. The place was nestled close to road, but as it is Moorea, there is hardly any traffic. And while sitting outside, we had a good view of the Cook's Bay. Around was quiet and kind of romantic. As we were first there, we had undivided attention of the owner. He has got a huge board with pictures of meals and local seafood which was a help, as my French wasn't as good. He explain to us every dish, gave us his recommendations and after small chat about tourism in island he has left us to our food. My boyfriend got a chicken with spinach and I had one of the best dishes in my life - parrot fish in coconut sauce. That was absolutely delicious! Very simple, local products and sooo tasty! I highly recommend Le Martinez!

“Great local food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013

We were there in February 2013 and had a great experience with the staff, and the food was delicious - much better than we were getting at even the resort hotels or big name restaurants. Also the prices were so much more reasonable than we had been generally finding on Bora Bora or Moorea. Enjoy a bottle of wine, get the parrot fish, and dessert!

In short, a relaxed atmosphere with great authentic local food.

“Awesome!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2013

WOW.... this was by far the most fun my husband and I had at dinner while in Moorea for our honeymoon! We were picked up from our hotel (the Peal) by the happiest woman you'll ever meet. She was so sweet, and so bubbly... a fun start to the night for sure! As soon as we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted outside by the owner. He shook our hands, and allowed us to pick any seat in the restraurant. Then he presented us with a huge chalkboard menu and personally came over to explain each dish to us. He was willing to accomodate our request for grilled fish (sans the heavy sauces they sometimes cook with), and he made some great recommendations for us too! He was so fun, energentic, and just so welcoming. This is a true GEM. I'm not sure why it's not the #1 restaurant in all of Moorea.... it should be!

“Salt of the earth good food mixed with Franco-Tahitian charm.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2013

We ate at Le Martinez for dinner while traveling in Moorea. Our waitress was actually the restaurant owner's wife. She was Tahitian and he French. The couple was just so lovely. They made us feel so welcome and special and took such good care of us. The food was prepared with care and presented just as beautifully as it tasted. I particularly recall the escargots as being just marvelous. We had the treat on pairing our fish dishes with a surprisingly good bottle of local Tahitian white wine. It paired perfectly and when done they arranged to take us back to our hotel. You will not be disappointed if you are able to dine here.
