“Hidden gem”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

This nice little restaurant is "hidden" next to an ugly gas station. There is not much nearby so we were prepared for whatever was served. The homemade soup was yummy. My 18-year old son claims the Hoss burger was the best hamburger he'd ever had. The fries were homemade. This little place is family own and run. At one point when the place filled up, the woman owner announced that everyone needed a little patience because there was only one person in the kitchen cooking and lots of people. Anyway, the place had a very nice feel.

“A delightful oasis in a culinary desert”
Reviewed August 8, 2012

This was a four for us because of where it is. If you are there, you will understand. Fresh food in a clean cafe (real vegetables). Music on the record player (yes, vinyl) for atmosphere. Owner fun to chat with. Such a welcome change from the normal Alaskan roadhouse fare. Only possible short-coming, no beer.

“Unsuspecting gem”

Only place open in town when we got here. Very clean, reasonable prices and good food. The waitstaff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
