“It was better than Pepe's”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

All the restaurants serve a little bit of everything. We had American food- burgers, fries, etc. It was pretty good.

“Floyd gave us some low down.”

Just pot stickers. Killing time and holding over as a light lunch.

Not too many options in Barrow, but this place was pretty good.

“Good pizza”
Reviewed November 23, 2011

We had lunch at Northern Lights, at the recommendation of a local who said it's got the best pizza in town. The pizza was good. Typical high prices that you find in Barrow, and the service was slow and not particularly engaging, but we were there after the lunch hour so maybe they were short-staffed. I suppose we would return if we came back to Barrow, but we still have a couple restaurants to go on our quest to eat at each one in Barrow!

“Extensive menu, good food”
Reviewed August 15, 2011

Anyone contemplating a trip to Barrow has to know that choices in general are limited. There are only a handful of restaurants so the few bold tourists just have to make a choice and bring along a lot of faith. From the outside, you are not even sure that Northern Lights is a restaurant. Once you get inside, you'll find yourself in a casual setting with a menu including sandwiches, sushi, Italian, Chinese, and some diner dishes. My husband and I both opted for Chinese - sesame chicken and kung pao chicken. Both dishes were prepared fresh, and my husband said it was the best kung pao he had ever had. Service was good too. It is a bit expensive, but everything in Barrow is compared to the lower 48.
