Our driver as well as concierge recommended this restaurant to us and at first, we were hesitant to go to an Argentinian restaurant while in Costa Rica but we were sure glad we did! It is located on a charming side street of San Jose on a corner. We went on a Sunday night at 7:30 pm and the place was full of locals (always a good sign)-we were glad we had reservations.
I have been to Buenos Aires three times and the ambiance of the restaurant is EXACTLY what you would find in Buenos Aires! Excellent job but I wondered how the food would be. The menu is extensive but our waiter, Walter, made recommendations for the parilla grill items and cuts of meat imported from Argentina (not local beef like some items on the menu). The cuts of beef he recommended were not what we normally think of as the best cut of beef but Walter was insistent on what they did best based on the quality of meats they use for the parilla-he even took a few of us into the kitchen to meet the grill master of the meat and sample a few bites of the cuts of beef he recommended so we were sold on what he recommended. Walter was right.
The entire meal was incredible-from empanadas and seafood appetizers that we ordered to the combo plates he suggested with 2 cuts of beef that were not on the menu as a combo but he was willing to do it for us so we could sample them. The flavors were delicious. The entrees come with a small salad that is actually on the entree plate (not a separate course of salad) which surprised us. The meal also comes with delicious potatoes. The portions of the beef are hearty and reasonably priced.
For dessert, we had the molten chocolate cake with ice cream and the banana split-both were delicious.
The ambiance of this restaurant, the outstanding service from the waiter Walter and the wonderful meal we had here was a perfect ending to our last night in Costa Rica. Go here for dinner-you will love it!

We recently enjoyed an extraordinary meal. Every course, from empanadas to dessert was world class. There were four of us and everyone was ecstatic about their choice of entree. I had black pasta with seafood. It's one of the best things I've ever had. But our waiter, Walter, made the evening. He was incredibly knowledgable, courteous, attentive. I cannot say enough about his level of service. He made an enjoyable evening outstanding. I will return.

Walter was the best waiter we have had in any restaurant in Costa Rica and maybe even in the usa. The meal from start to finish was beyond expectations fr the spinich croquettes and empanadas to the fruta del mar and argentinian steak and thechocolate mousse and fig ice cream! The appertifs cocktails wine and after dinner liqours Walter recommended were perfect. Great ambiance and easy to find location for a pre symphony dining experience. Muchas gracias

PROs: The restaurant is decorated nicely itself. The Menu is big and there is a good wine list. It is really a mood ike in a french bistro somewhere and it is lively. The food portions are good.

CONs: If not reserved, you may need to wait at least 30 minutes. The tables are set close to each other, making it difficult to have a real romantic dinner. The food portions are big, but the quality is medium, for example of prime beef, which is below international standards and may not be prepared your taste exactly. The service is not best...we had not related waiter, everytime different. And we wanted something (such as missing fork, or more wine), we needed to ask and did not even know who to ask. This is for its priceclass definitely inacceptable. All in all, nice setting for young people who like it lively and busy. For those appreciating a romantic dinner or high quality service, there are places serving better. Generally, the price is too high...they charged us a lot for a wine of crianza quality, where elsewhere you get a reserva.
