We started our 2 week Costa Rican vacation with a short 2 night stay in San Jose. Although I probably wouldn't do this again, I'm glad we had a chance to see the city and say we've been. But I will say that by being in San Jose we had the opportunity to have dinner here at La Esquina de Buenos Aires and what a find it was! By far one of the best dinners throughout our 2 week stay! We ended up sitting at the bar and having a great steak and a fab pasta dish (yep, pasta). They had incredible pastas (and quite a few vegetarian). The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful (neither of us speak Spanish but most Costa Ricans speak either great English or enough to help us get by). The restaurant definitely had the feel that it was a neighborhood place that the locals would eat in. Nothing touristy here. Wish it were in San Feancisco - we'd eat there regularly. Thanks for the great meal and introduction to Costa Rica.

We absolutely love this restaurant and often visit it more than once when in San Jose. The beef is sooooo tender and flavorful. Pasta dishes are equally excellent. Wine list is great. And the atmosphere is as it is named...a little corner of Buenos Aires. We can't recommend this restaurant more!!!

We come here regularly and it is definitely one of the best places to eat in the San Jose area. Great ambiance, lovely services and delicious food.

It's a nice, cozy environment. Great place for a good Argentinian meat cut. It was very crowded and even though we had no reservation, they manage to get a table for us, but I do recommend you make reservations in advance. The sangrias are GREAT!
