“Good Place for a Leisurely Breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2012

The Patio is a great place to meet a friend to share conversation at breakfast. A front table gives you a good view as to what's happening on Avenida Central. This is a pedestrian street that features everything from pretty girls, street bums, musicians, cigar salesman and not so pretty girls. The food and the coffee are good also! Sometimes the service is slow but when you're not in a hurry it doesn't matter. The prices are high medium for the area. My favorite time is 9:AM on Sunday Morning.

“most expensive beer in costa rica!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

we took 2 beers - price
not exposed on menu - in cafe del patio after having read "dos cervecas a precio especial" at the entrance, spent 9 dollars for bottled beer! avoid if you do not own a bank or so...service did not react on complains.

“Beware The Ceviche”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2012

Service was good, however I ordered the mixed ceviche and noticed that the the seafood in the dish had a very mild lime flavour which I now suspect means it hadn't been marinated long enough to "cook" the meat.Within hours I was on the toilet and am still suffering from travellers diarrhea 4 days later. Normally, ceviche is marinaded for hours or overnight in lime juice with enough lime to completely cover the seafood. The acid cooks the met and kills bacteria and other organisms that cause disease. In my case I suspect this wasn't done as I tasted very little acidic flavour. What the cook probably did was make it on the spot and squeeze a bit of lime over top before it was sent out. My advice, stay away from it.

“Big portions”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2012

They have touristy prices but the food is really good and the portions are big! If you go for lunch, you may find the "Plato Ejecutivo" or the Day's special at a much affordable price, still good food quality! The staff is really friendly and service is fast!
