Our dishes are inspired from Asian countries: China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Thailand. We have an extensive vegetarian and vegan menu as well as a gluten free menu. Our Asian themed rooms gather together all the art work we have collected as well as those created by closed friends and frequent diners. Tin Jo is our third child and we are very involved owners. “Pleasantly surprised”

We were in the mood to try out the Asian food during our vacation in Costa Rica and Tin Jo, located next to San Jose's "China town," happened to be close to the hotel we were at. So we gave it a shot thinking it would be second-rate Asian food.

And as it turned out, the food was pretty good! My girlfriend (native Chinese) ordered a tofu dish with some specifications that turned out exactly as she wanted, and I ordered a simple beef dish that was tasty. The service was good and the manager (John) made an impression on her after learning it was her b-day by arranging for the staff to sing a short b-day song in Mandarin.

Overall it was pretty good food, friendly service, and nice ambiance.

“Excellent food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2014

We had dinner here one night and were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good as we both had Indian food, but they also serve Thai and Chinese dished and the service is very good.
It does feel like you are in a somewhat uncomfortable area, but the staff is quick to arrange for a cab if you do not feel good about walking. We walked about four blocks back to the hotel and had no problem. Still, it is worth a visit as the food is very good. I would definately return!

“Great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2014

Just couldn't find a restaurant we really liked in San Jose until our last day there. The atmosphere, the service and the food was wonderful. We would have eaten there everyday had we found it sooner. Don't be put off by the exterior, just push the door open to find this gem.

“Great restaurant for vegans!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2014

Found this restaurant based on the reviews on TripAdvisor and I am glad we did! The food and service were excellent! There were a lot of vegan options (mostly everything on the vegetarian menu could be made vegan) and everything we tried was very good. Especially the veggie sushi roll and steamed dumplings. Was happy to learn that they use organic whenever possible. They are very accommodating and super-friendly. The manager came and chatted with us for a while and was genuinely happy to have us as guests in the restaurant. Would definitely come back next time we are in San Jose!
