“Is a good place to visit”
Reviewed August 8, 2012

Is a good place to visit if you want to have a general idea of San José back in the old days. Although there is not much to do, is a quiet place among the busy "Parque de DIversiones"

“Great place”
Reviewed June 1, 2012

I think every visitor to Costa Rica should come here and enjoy a relaxing day people watching and enjoying the fair like atmosphere! Very good park! BEWARE though the taxis sitting outside this park will lie and say they use the Maria then once inside they will pretty much kidnap you and not let you out saying you have to pay a fixed rate!!! We should have waited for the cabs that come through near the gate. General rule about all of Costa Rica we learned. If the cab is sitting still don't use it!!!

“Pueblo Antiguo - Great restaurant + little kid's rides.”
Reviewed May 7, 2012

The whole park is nice for an afternoon out with the family, but the place we liked the most was the section called Pueblo Antiguo...and the main reason for me was the restaurant
El Ventolero.
It had the best food I've eaten in all of Costa Rica.
This is not fancy food - it is casado - plato tipico - but it was very good.
The beef was cooked in a flavorful sauce. Costa Rican food is bland (hate to say it) but the meal I had was very tasty.
I recommend the plantain maduros with cheese...mmmm

The area surrounding the restaurant has rides for kids 2-6 years old and our not quite 2 year old had a blast.
There is a farm animal area but we didn't make it that far.

The rest of the amusement park for older kids/adults is a short walk away.

“Simply Beautiful and Very Educational”
Reviewed January 15, 2012

This cool look area of the Parque Nacional de Diversiones (the largest amusement park in Costa Rica, that benefits the Hospital de Ninos (Children's Hospital) gives a unique chance for a cool glimpse to the different faces of the past of Costa Rica.

Bring your kids to the amusement park for fun and support the novel cause of the hospital, but please do not let go the day without spending sometime at Pueblo Antiguo... it is fun and very educational for kids and adults.

Weekends and National Holidays, Pueblo Antiguo features a whole range of fantastic shows and activities.
