“The Paradise .......”

My husband and i had a BLAST in Costa Rica. We stayed in the Hotel Sleep Inn San Jose and we never expect how wonderful its going to be. The people in the Hotel were friendly and very professional. We really enjoyed the enviroment over there. Every time we were looking for any information the staff was there for help us out. The Restaurant was incredible ...food was very exquisite all the time.
We were traveling around SJ downtown and also took couples tours to the Arenal and Jaco Beach ....It was great too. We love it ...
Our time in the Hotel and CR was enjoyable and wonderful. Can't wait for come back someday soon and visit other areas of the country. Rose Brannen!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, one at the beggining of our trip and the other one at the very end. The first night we got a room facing this park that is behind the hotel and it was impossible to sleep because of all the noise that came in from the night clubs at the street. The other problem was that the shower did not work, and the water only came out from the lower sink (the one you use to fill up a bath tub). Since we were tired from our 11 hour flight from spain we decided not to say anything, and just make sure that we did not have the same problem on our last night. On our last night we were poorly attended by the recepcion guy, who would only look at my husband when we spoke (i have been to arab countries, and had never felt so poorly treated as a woman before coming to this hotel). I told him about our problem with the shower on our first night and he still gave us a room with the same exact problem!! I went back to the lobby to get another room, and oh my!! I might as well had stuck with the shower problem because they ga e us a room next to a group of guys who were doing sexual tourism in costa rica and brought the prostitutes up to the room, meaning that we had to hear every single detail of their sexual encounters. The next morning, the madame came to collect the money from them and also woke us up. The worst thing is that we called the front desk several times and they did not do anything about it. It is a good hotel if you are interested in bringing prostitutes from the near-by night clubs up to room without being bothered about it, but if you are just travelling the country, I would highly suggest staying somewhere else (specially if you are travelling with kids....)

stayed here twice over the last couple of weeks.
Whilst the Sleep Inn didn't give you any hint as to what we were to find in the rest of Costa Rica (much like the city of San Jose itself!) - I can't fault it.
Both times, room was tidy, clean and with all the mod cons you could expect.
Hotel staff friendly and helpful.
Casino is next door - but easy to by pass if not your thing.
Food was fine, and breakfast buffet in the morning - whilst not a massive range of choice, was more than exceptable - with European and typical Cost Rican to choose from.
We followed all advice in the evening and took taxis everywhere. In the day is easy to walk from the hotel to the national theatre and museum area.
Overall - provided exactly what we were looking for, for our first and last night in Costa Rica - before and after airport transfers.

If you have to stay in San Jose, as i did for some surgery, this is one of the only places I would stay. It's safe, clean, and close to the CIMA Hospital. Rough area, but alot of activity, nightlife, and bars.

We were impressed with the accommodations at the Sleep Inn and would stay there again should we be in the San Jose area. The hotel property is gated with security guards which made us feel safer. The staff at the main desk was friendly and professional. It helped that they spoke English, too. We had reserved a King Size room and were given room 207, but we found that it was next to the busy road and the noise was very loud. After 2 hours in the room, we asked to be moved and they did move us to an interior room with two queen beds. If you’re sensitive to noise, I would make sure you request an interior room, not near the road. It is very loud!

Overall we had a good stay with Sleep Inn and would recommend others to stay there. The accommodations were up to USA quality. The room was a good size – not to small and not to large, but good for Costa Rica. The beds were decent. Room had a nice TV with lots of channels. A safe and mini fridge were also welcome features. The bathroom had a large shower and the room was well maintained and clean. The lobby area was beautifully decorated for the holidays.

The free breakfast provided in the mornings was great. Hearty food, delicious fruits, great coffee and great service. We never ate at their on premise restaurant, but it looked decent as did their casino. We walked the streets one afternoon, but there isn’t much to see and it was dirty. We were only staying in San Jose because we were visiting friends, otherwise you best use your time at the more scenic areas of Costa Rica.

However, for a few nights, this hotel is fantastic and we would stay here again.
