We stayed here for two nights on our way out of Costa Rica recently.

The hotel itself is a little difficult to find, being on a side street parallel to a highway, and we got lost in some of the gated communities nearby trying to get to it initially. Once we were there, things were fine. There is parking on site, but at times of peak occupancy, not all visitors will be able to get a parking spot.

The rooms are basic and large, clean and comfortable. It can be a bit noisy here if there are large groups staying, but that isn't really a problem when considered in light of the noise that is so prevalent in San Jose. The decor and appliances are somewhat dated, but fully functional.

We didn't quite get the same warmth from the staff that others here have reported - perhaps we didn't quite 'get it' because we are not from North America. We certainly were never made to feel unwelcome; it's just that we didn't quite get the homely feeling that other reviewers have described.

The hotel rate includes transport to the airport, however, it isn't an in-house shuttle, rather they pay for a taxi to get you there. It wasn't a problem for us, but I can imagine that at times of peak demand, this could potentially be an issue for some.

It's a good value hotel, and if you want a no fuss place to stay, then this place fits the bill nicely.

We stayed at the Adventure Inn at the start and end of our week long vacation in Costa Rica. We arrived after a long day of flying. The hotel provides transportation from the airport. We walked right outside and found our van driver with a sign with my name on it. After getting our bags into the van, the drive to the hotel was about 20 mins. Check in went fast and smooth. The restaurant was about to close, but they were nice enough to make us dinner. The room was spotless and the beds very comfortable. We all got a great nights sleep. Breakfast was included with the price and was very good. They offered about 6 different choices. I highly recommend the Adventure Inn. A wonderful, small, boutique inn.

My friend and I arrived at the Adventure Inn like a couple of whipped dogs. It HAD been a fortnight of lumpy beds, scratchy sheets, lukewarm, puny showers, and the ever-present smell of mildew! And we were running on 3 hours of sleep after last night's party at our hostel...though we were ready for bed at 9pm, the live band playing in the hostel's living room kept us up way past 2am!
We badly needed lunch, a nap and a good soak in the jacuzzi. All of these things were easy to obtain at the Adventure Inn. Plus they went waaay out of their way to let us stay in a room that I had really enjoyed before. When I made reservations, this room was not open, but the staff rearranged things to give me this room again.
Staff speaks great English and always provides service with a smile, though they will let you practice your student Spanish.
A great pick for San Jose, Costa Rica.
I have stayed there 4 nights over the past couple of months and yes, I would come back.!

Adventure Inn exceeded our expectations. We were just staying here one night to catch an early flight out. It was on the last leg of our trip and we couldn't have felt more at home. They were so welcoming and helpful. They organized our breakfast early (since we were flying out before we could get breakfast) and had it ready for us to take on our flight. They gave us a free calling card to call the US. Mike in the restaurant was fantastic and they were accommodating to my dietary restrictions. The shuttle to the airport was free which we expected to pay for. Super clean!!! Great experience!!!!

Adventure Inn was the perfect place for us to start and end our vacation. They provide free transportation to/from the airport, the restaurant has delicious food and the hotel is laid out in a rather unusual, but welcoming and cozy manner. Free computer use so you can check in for your flights and print boarding passes (if your phone does not work in a foreign country...) and good currency exchange rates. The front office staff is attentive, knowledgeable and fun. The owner will even customize trips throughout Costa Rica for you if you want! Jeanneth, the restaurant manager, is very kind and ensures every customer is attended to. The hotel is spotlessly clean, quiet and comfortable. We will go there again on our next trip to Costa Rica.

Room Tip: Room #34 has a really noisy air conditioner and, if you leave the window open, the neighbors behind the hotel can be noisy in the courtyard.
