My husband and I went with tour guide Victor and driver Charlie on this tour. Although it turned out to be a little more of an adventure than we were looking for, it went well. Victor is a great and knowledgeable guide, and quite bilingual in English and Spanish. While we were cruising on the Sarapiqui, there was a problem with boat (water in the outboard motor) and we became adrift with no power. The captain ably lodged us against a log in the river, and help came along before too long (they were able to reach them via cell phone). We made it safely to our lunch destination, and honestly, I don't think we were ever in danger, but it was a bit scary. Victor handled everything very well. We did see a lot of birds, crocodiles and iguanas.

Wonderful experience! We observed a great variety of wildlife and the tour guide was extremely good at spotting wildlife that we never would have seen on our own (including a boa constrictor in a tree). We had been on several other tours in Costa Rica before this and were impressed by the small size of the tour groups and the overall organization of this tour. We thoroughly enjoyed this trip and would highly recommend it to anyone else!

We we went with Rainforest tours and don't have any tour to compare. But would say that the tour guide could have definitely been more friendly. Most people on the tour were Spanish speaking except our family and one other person. Most of the guide's presentation was overwelmingly in Spanish with a much briefer explanations in English. Or, so it seemed anyway. Sarchi was not too interesting and we stayed far too long at the oxcart shop - over one hour while one woman monopolized time getting the shop personnel to help her. Everyone on the bus was annoyed waiting far too long and the tour guide was distracted, not passionate about his job nor friendly. Maybe it was an "off day"
