the people working there are pleasant and helpful, you can use ATM cards or do your business with a teller,, and they have ATM's all over the city

“Show me the money!”
Reviewed March 21, 2012

Quite a strange experience this. Took out $500, got a message on the screen stating that the machine was now broken. Thankfully it gave us the cash and our card back.

I've given this 4 stars because it added to our experience of Costa Rica. This also seems to be the only ATM that we could find anyway to dispense dollars. Something to think about if your accommodation doesn't take Colones. The other way is to take out Colones in town, and then exchange at the info centre (internet cafe) but you will get screwed there with the exchange rate and their fee.
