Most of the reviews here are pretty accurate. This hotel is in a great spot in San Jose - right off of a walking mall which has a ton of shopping, eateries, museums, and taxis all just steps away. This was ideal for parents traveling with small kids - it makes getting out in an unfamiliar city alot easier when you are close to everything.
The rooms themselves are just OK in my opinion. If you are looking for the type of luxury you can find at this price in America, then you should head towards one of the more familiar hotel chains outside of the immediate downtown area. The rooms are kind small, but the beds sleep well.
Lastly (which is probably why you started reading this review in the first place), it is totally common and accepted that the inner city hotels see A LOT of business from prostitutes and their sunburned, drunk, American Johns. It's oddly enough, not as seedy as it sounds - they, mostly at night and somewhat discreetly, check in at the front desk and go about their business. If this bothers you then this is not the hotel for you. But if you are in for some major people watching, and a great "home base" while you explore San Jose, sure, I would recommend this hotel. But don't say I didn't warn ya.More
