“Good location”

For a downtown hotel, this was fine. It has an entrance onto the pedestrian mall. This offers easy access to a wide variety of restaurants and shops. The room was fine. The breakfast was very good with a decent selection. The front desk staff was helpful.

The rooms are tiny if you're not getting a suite. My room didn't have two double beds, it had one double and one TWIN and I arrived as a family of four. So that was fun. I didn't have the energy to complain because the trip there from Manuel Antonio was exhausting and we were all just starving and out of it. We sucked it up and just dealt with it. Then we find out there's NO AIRPORT SHUTTLE as was advertised when I booked on Priceline. You have to get a taxi for a 30 dollar fee to the airport. We weren't prepared for that. When I looked through the book in the room it does advertise airport shuttle being available so I don't understand when they decided to stop doing that but it probably something they should make clear.
As I said we were starving when we arrived so we are at their restaurant inside the hotel. Another disappointment. I had rice and beef which was very bland. My husband ordered nachos which he thought were good. My kids had burgers and fries. This very basic meal came out to FIFTY DOLLARS. They managed to be the most expensive meal my entire stay in Costa Rica.
They are not that close to the airport. It takes a good thirty minutes and that's at 6am with barely any traffic so plan accordingly.

This is a top of the line hotel. The decor is beautiful, a real gem. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathroom is great, the shower is wide and the water pressure is awesome, better than any US hotel I've stayed in. The staff is very helpful. The location is perfect, you walk out the lobby door to the pedestrian walk way where there are bars, restaurants, shopping, banks, museums, and grocery stores. The noise level inside the rooms was fine. You can hear the sounds of the city if you open the windows but once they are closed it's quiet.

We had the complimentary breakfast and it was delicious. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Hands down the best Gallo Pinto of the trip! I would absolutely stay there again!

Arrived at dark and parking and hotel hard to find. Unloading our suitcases was self service, room was ok, very large bathtub in room that was also the shower and the bathtub was dirty. Hard to get into the shower. Located centrally to shopping but scary to go out at night. Since we had an early morning flight we couldn't take advantage of the breakfast but they fixed us a box breakfast. This consisted of two pieces of hard bread a slice of processed meat and cheese which felt like it had been sitting out all night, an apple and a juice box. Had to throw all that out and buy breakfast at the airport. Wouldn't stay there again.

Prior to arriving, I received excellent communications from the hotel staff and felt I knew them by the time we arrived. We utilized their airport pick-up service ($35), and it was great. They were there waiting for us, and even had chilled bottled water to offer as soon as we got in the van. The hotel itself is very nice, modern and clean. The room is large and comfortable. The only thing missing is a desk, but that's small for me. I highly recommend this hotel.

Extremely central location (even perhaps a bit too much if you do not wish to be in the main shopping pedestrian street!). Very helpful staff, nice modern reception and comfortable rooms. The included breakfast is of average quality food wise and could be improved. Also if you've never been to San Jose, prepare to get lost a bit as the streets are not easy to navigate for newcomers, but luckily the locals are always prepared to help!
A solid choice.

We stayed for one night at the Hotel Presidente in San Jose before our flight back to the US. It is a very nice hotel and the service was excellent - everyone on the staff seems to be very customer-focused. We also enjoyed the breakfast that is included with the room.
