Intricate details on its interior design and practicality down to the lighting and vent fans in the shower, and frosted glass selection of the shower door. Hot showers available, TV, hairdryer, USB chargers and basically everything you will ever need (including a coffee machine and all amenities such as phone for room service, laundry etc). One of the top boutique hotels I have stayed at. Thank you.

The staff was excelent and the property well keep, the entire stay was great we were very satisfy with all the experience and look forward to comeback kudos to all the staff that trully made the diference...

This modern hotel was quite comfortable and conveniently located. The rooms were also very quiet and the beds were comfortable. Service was good. We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast. We enjoyed overlooking the theater.

I have stayed many times at Hilton hotels and I believe that the arrogant and sarcastic attitude of the Front Desk Supervisor do not convey the image and values of the Hilton brand. It was a truly unpleasant experience. As our flight arrived early, some staff at the airport assisted us with calling the hotel to check the status of the transfer we arranged beforehand with the Front Desk. We waited until our scheduled arrival but the transfer was still nowhere to be found. It finally arrived with a bit of a delay but the driver provided no excuse for the tardiness. We would understand if there would be traffic or something else. But no excuse was given. Normally, we would also expect transfers from hotels to arrive early as it could always happen that flights arrive early. Otherwise, we could have just taken a taxi. When we expressed our concerns to the Front Desk, the person who checked us in (turns out to be the Front Desk Supervisor) was unsympathetic and dismissive of our needs. We can understand that there might be unforeseen events with transfers, and in that case, the best thing for the hotel to do was just to excuse itself. Instead, the Front Desk Supervisor replied with such a sarcastic and arrogant attitude. When we asked if we could speak to the hotel manager, he replied that it was him. I checked his business card and it indicated Front Desk Supervisor. Again, I asked if I could speak or have the contact of the hotel manager, he insisted it was him as he was the manager-on-duty that day. After I replied that he was the Front Desk Supervisor, I would need the contact of the hotel manager. He still refused to provide it until I pressed even more. Finally, I received it. Another Front Desk staff, Dani, was listening to our conversation and started speaking to us. She was much more helpful, polite, understanding and respectful. If we would have checked-in with her, we would not have had this unpleasant experience at all. The Front Desk is there to assist the guests and listen to their needs instead of just dismissing them and giving an arrogant attitude. After I spoke to a senior tour guide in San José, I was told that this was not the first time others have had similar unpleasant experiences with the Front Desk Supervisor. It seems that nobody has ever reported his attitude that is why it continues. This is truly a pity as the hotel was nice with an excellent location. We can tolerate unforeseen events and some nuances, but such an arrogant and sarcastic behavior from the Front Desk Supervisor is impermissible. I hope that the hotel investigates this. We truly wanted to just cancel our reservation on the spot but since we needed advance notice to do this, we did not want to lose a night's hotel bill. In addition, we initially wanted to dine and have cocktails in the hotel but decided to go someplace else as we didn't want to endorse and spend more in the hotel -- not with that kind of treatment.

Located right in the heart of the city The Gran Hotel Costa Rica provides a bit of luxurious tranquility. I’m sure that the in room check in is a bit like Marmite you’ll either love it, or like myself think that it’s a bit too much faff after a long flight. The rooms are nice and the public areas welcoming but it just lacked a bit of atmosphere. To sum up, a great stop over hotel but I wouldn’t want to stay there a week
